BABAR AZAM NOMINATED FOR THE ICC PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD:

ICC Player of The Month is an award given by the International Cricket Council to acknowledge the performances of the international players they have given every month for their respective teams.

For this acknowledgment, ICC shortlist the players with outstanding international performers in the previous month, the ICC has shortlisted the candidates for the outstanding performers of May 2023, and three shortlisted performers of the previous month are from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Ireland.

The three names that are shortlisted for the ICC Player of The Month award are as follows: The captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam who has already won this award many times, once again is the first name in the list that is shortlisted with players who were the best performers in the last month, the second on the list of ICC is Najmul Hossain Shanto, a player from Bangladesh who scored tons of runs for his team in the previous month, and the last one to feature on this list of the ICC is Harry Tector, who has once again shown his quality and scored some good runs against Bangladesh last month.

ICC PLAYER OF THE MONTH SHORTLISTED PLAYERS:

The performances of the players that are shortlisted for the best performers in international cricket last month of May 2023 are as follows;

BABAR AZAM:

Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan team returned to play the series against New Zealand after he was rested from the Afghanistan series and he started from where he left off in his last series – the captain of the Pakistan team played five ODI matches but only the last three matches will be taken in to count because those were played in May 2023 as the star batter went on to score some impressive knocks in the ODI series.

In the third ODI match of the series, the captain of Pakistan scored a fifty. His knock of 54 (62) helped his team to win the match by 29 runs.

The knock was followed by another impressive knock of 107 (117) runs which helped Pakistan to win another match of the series 4-0 and Pakistan was placed on top of the ICC ODI Rankings as well.

NAJMUL HOSSAIN SHANTO:

The batter from Bangladesh who is also nominated in this list because of his impressive performances in the last month, Najmul Hossain Shanto enjoyed some great success last month against Ireland in the ODI format and that’s the reason he is nominated in this list.

In the first match of the series, Najmul Hossain Shanto started off the series with a good knock of 44 (66) runs but eventually, the game ended with no result because of continuous rain.

In the second match of the series, the batter once again showed his class and scored a brilliant century to lead his team while chasing 320 runs in 45 overs, he also scored 12 fours and 3 sixes in his knock of 117 runs from just 93 balls for his team.

The star batter from Bangladesh again made his presence felt in the last match of the series where he scored a valuable 35 (32) runs which eventually helped his team to win the match by 5 runs and take the series 2-0 and he was named the Player of The Series as well.

HARRY TECTOR:

Harry Tector, another batsman who is nominated in the list of outstanding performers for May 2023 is because of his impressive performances against the Bangladesh team in the recent ODI series.

In the first match of the ODI series, the star batsman of the Ireland team was looking solid on 21 (37) not out when rain arrived and the game was called off.

In the second match of the series against Bangladesh, Harry Tector showed his real talent when he walked out to bat when the team was struggling and went on to score his career-best knock of 140 runs from just 113 balls, which also included 7 fours and 10 huge sixes against Bangladesh.

In the last match of the series, the Irish batter again scored some valuable runs for his team, his knock of 45 (48) helped his team to try and chase the total but all went in vain because the game was dominated by Bangladesh.

THE ICC PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR THE BEST PERFORMER IN APRIL 2023 WAS WON BY THE LEFT-HANDED OPENING BATSMAN OF THE PAKISTAN CRICKET TEAM, FAKHAR ZAMAN AND PAKISTANI FANS WILL BE HOPING THAT THEIR OTHER STAR BATSMAN, BABAR AZAM WILL BE THE WINNER OF THIS AWARD ONCE AGAIN.
