ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025:
The ICC Champions Trophy is a One-Day international tournament organized by the International Cricket Council. The last edition of this tournament was played in 2017 and was won by Pakistan, after this season Champions Trophy was replaced by the WT20 tournament after every two years but now in the latest ICC upcoming fixtures this tournament is again added to the mix and the next edition of this tournament will take place in 2025 cycle onwards.

ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 FORMAT:
The next edition of the ICC Champions Trophy that will be played in 2025, this style and format of this tournament will be Round-Robin and Knockout matches.
The Round-Robin format is also known as an all-play-all tournament. The name explains us that in this format the teams that play in this format will get to play with every other team in its group or league, all teams will play the equal number of matches.
- The eight teams in the tournament will be divided into two different categories.
- A team will not play with any other team which will be not in the same group.
- The top two teams from the allocated groups (A & B) will proceed towards the knockout matches.
- The teams that wins their knockout matches will go through the final and at the end can be the winner of the tournament.
ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 QUALIFICATIONS:
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is a tournament in which 8 teams will participate in the Champions Trophy and these 8 teams will be the top teams that play ODI cricket, the top 8 teams in the ICC ODI rankings are the ones that take part in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 season.
- THERE IS A CUT-OFF DATE ANNOUNCED BY THE ICC A YEAR BEFORE THE ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY IS SCHEDULED TO PLAY, THE CUT-OFF DATE FOR THE PREVIOUS CHAMPIONS TROPHY EDITION WHICH WAS PLAYED IN 2017 WAS ANNOUNCED AS SEPTEMBER 2015, THE TOP 8 TEAMS IN THE ICC RANKINGS AT THE DATE WERE THE TEAMS THAT TOOK PART IN THE ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2017 SEASON AND SAME WILL BE THE CASE IN THE LATEST EDITION AS WELL.
The eight teams that played in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 season were the top eight teams in the ICC ODI Team Rankings and those teams were as follows;

The top eight teams in the ICC ODI Rankings as per the cut-off date by the ICC that organizes this tournament is expected to be somewhere between 2023 – 24, the teams that are expected to be a part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 are as follows;

There are the expected teams that will participate in the 2025 Champions Trophy, out of all these teams, the only confirmed team is Pakistan, they are already qualified as they are the hosts of this tournament and because they are the hosts of the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy, they will get a direct qualification into the tournament regardless of the ODI rankings.
