Babar Azam’s PSL Performances (Season-Wise PSL Performances And Stats):

- KARACHI KINGS (2017 – 2022)

PSL 2016:
Babar Azam played for Islamabad United in the first season of Pakistan Super League history, where he got just 2 chances to bat for United in which he scored a total of 15 runs.
Islamabad United was crowned champions of this edition and Babar Azam was part of the squad so basically he won the PSL title in his first stint with Islamabad United.
PSL 2017:
In the next PSL season, he was traded to Karachi Kings by Islamabad United, which was the start of a great journey that a young boy “Babar Azam“, was about to write in the PSL.
Babar Azam couldn’t impress much this season as an opener for Karachi Kings as he scored just 300 odd runs in 11 innings, he also scored his first PSL fifty this season.
PSL 2018:
Babar Azam was still young at that time but Karachi believed in him and he was retained in PSL 2018 as well, where Babar Azam showed the world his potential as he scored 402 runs in this season along with 5 scores of 50+ for Karachi Kings.
PSL 2019:
Babar Azam’s form dipped a bit for Karachi Kings in this season still he managed to score a good total of 335 runs in 11 innings, when he scored 3 fifties at an average of 30.4 runs.
PSL 2020:
The best season for Babar Azam in terms of PSL was the season in which Babar Azam made sure that the team that trusted in his abilities for so many years and they got the reward as well when Karachi was the champions of PSL 2020 in which Babar Azam played a huge role.
Babar Azam scored 473 runs at an average of 59+ in 11 innings and he was also his best year in terms of awards, which are as follows:
- MAN OF THE MATCH IN QUALIFIER
- MAN OF THE MATCH IN THE SEMI-FINAL
- MAN OF THE MATCH IN THE FINAL
- BEST BATSMAN OF THE TOURNAMENT
- HIGHEST RUNS SCORER OF THE TOURNAMENT
PSL 2021:
Babar Azam continued his great form in the Pakistan Super League for Karachi Kings in the PSL 2021 season as well where he scored 554 runs in 11 innings at a whooping average of 69.2, which is the best Babar Azam has ever had in PSL history. He also scored 7 scores of 50+ this season and this is also the most number of fifties he scored in a single PSL season.
PSL 2022:
The good and bad thing about time is that it changes and it happened with Babar Azam as well when he took over as the captain of Karachi Kings in PSL 2022 and his form took a huge dent where he scored just 343 runs in 10 innings.
Babar Azam as captain also failed in this PSL season to get his team into the PLAYOFFS and that’s where tension started between Babar and Karachi management.
PSL 2023:
In the PSL 2023 season, Babar Azam left Karachi Kings and joined Peshawar Zalmi as the captain of the franchise. Babar Azam made Karachi regret as he scored 522 runs in 11 innings for Zalmi at a strike rate of more than 145, he also scored 5 fifties and 1 century for Zalmi in PSL 2023 season.
Babar Azam as captain also had a good tournament where he led his team into the PLAYOFFS as well as the QUALIFIER 2 where Zalmi lost to Lahore who were the champions of the PSL 2022 as well as PSL 2023.
