Will Pakistan Host The Champions Trophy 2025?
The problem of Pakistan hosting an event where India is not ready to travel is once again under discussion because Pakistan is the official host for the Champions Trophy 2025 but India will again try to move the ICC tournament out of Pakistan.
Pakistan was also the host of the Asia Cup 2023 but they were forced to play as per the Hybrid Model where Pakistan was the host of the tournament but the matches were played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
As per the Hybrid Model, Pakistan played some of its matches on Pakistani venues, and the rest of the matches were played in Sri Lanka along with the Final as well.
Now, the problem has again started, and the hosting of the Champions Trophy is again a cause of concern for the Pakistan Cricket Board.
According to the media reports, if the political tension between Pakistan and India doesn’t get better then India will again take the stance of moving CT25 out of Pakistan and the tournament might be played in UAE or another Hybrid Model will be under discussion for the tournament.
PCB ON MOVING CT25 OUT OF PAKISTAN:
PCB has recorded his protest in front of the ICC on this matter as they have assured that there will be no security issues in Pakistan or that Pakistan can set up a special security agency for the security of the Indian team in Pakistan.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board has said that many top teams have already toured Pakistan so there are no security issues in Pakistan and if India still declines to visit Pakistan for CT2 then, ICC must compensate Pakistan for this decision by BCCI.
