The captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam who played his maiden World Cup in 2019 was one of the top run scorers of the ICC World Cup 2019 edition.
The legendary pacer of South Africa is currently at Star Sports, where he predicted the player who he thinks will be the top runs scorer of the mega tournament.
Dale Steyn believes that Babar Azam will ace this edition of the World Cup and will end up as the top run scorer of the upcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup.
The former South African pacer, Dale Steyn while speaking to Star Sports has predicted that the captain of the Pakistan team will be the highest runs scorer of the World Cup 2023.
‘’ Leading runs scorer (WORLD CUP 2023) is probably gonna be somebody like Babar ‘’, Steyn added.
Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam scored 474 runs in the previous 2019 edition of the World Cup. He scored three fifties and one century in the ICC World Cup 2019.
Along with that, the top-ranked ODI batsman, Babar Azam scored a magnificent match winning century in the 2019 World Cup against New Zealand.
Babar Azam enjoyed a great tournament as a batsman where he broke the record of Pakistan’s legendry batsman, Javed Miandad as the player with most runs for Pakistan in a single World Cup edition.
