Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 Squad: Inclusions Expected In The World Cup 2023 Squad

Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 Squad:

The squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is yet to be announced and here we will talk about some expected inclusions in the Pakistani squad.

Pakistan was the favorite to win the Asia Cup 2023 and after their exit from the Asia Cup 2023, it has raised many questions on the loop holes in the current Pakistani squad.

Pakistan lost the virtual semi-final against Srilanka on the last ball of the match in a thriller and was knocked out of the tournament.

INCLUSIONS EXPECTED IN THE WORLD CUP 2023 SQUAD:

After the heavy defeat in Asia Cup 2023, there are three to four changes expected in Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 squad.

FIRST INCLUSION:

As per reports, Naseem Shah is injured and the first problem that Pakistan has to face is to pick a bowler as a replacement for Naseem Shah in the World Cup.

The names that are in contention as replacements for Naseem Shah are Hassan Ali, Zaman Khan, and Arshad Iqbal.

Ihsanullah is still recovering from an injury while Arshad Iqbal is fit and can play for Pakistan if he is selected for the World Cup 2023 squad, as he is also named in Asian Games 2023 squad.

Hassan Ali is the best possible option among all of these because of his experience and is the one who can bowl in all phases of the game as well.

SECOND INCLUSION:

Another problem that selectors have to address is to think about a better spin option who can pick wickets for Pakistan in the middle overs.

Abrar Ahmed is the front-runner in this case to be a part of the Pakistan squad as a mystery spinner who can fill that gap by taking wickets for Pakistan.

The right-arm spinner has played TEST cricket for Pakistan and has enjoyed huge success as well. He has picked up 38 wickets in just 6 Test matches for Pakistan.

Even though Abrar Ahmed hasn’t played much of LIST A cricket, still he can be that X-factor player for Pakistan in the World Cup because of his mystery spin.

THIRD INCLUSION:

Another inclusion that is circulating in the media is the comeback of Imad Wasim in ODI cricket for Pakistan.

Imad Wasim can also make it into Pakistan’s ODI squad because of his recent performances as an all-rounder and he has made himself available for selection in the World Cup squad as well.

As his record suggests, Imad Wasim isn’t a wicket-taker with the ball in ODI cricket. He has picked up 44 wickets in 55 matches and averages 44.5 with the ball.

But things that can go in his favor is that he can bowl with the new ball after the injury of Naseem Shah and can give the captain control in the middle overs because we all know, he is not easy to hit out.
