India Announced 15-Member World Cup Squad:

India’s chairman of selector, Ajit Agarkar has announced the squad of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming World Cup in India.

The players that could not get a place in the squad are Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna who were placed in the Asia Cup 2023 squad but are not included in the World Cup squad of the Indian team.

Some experinced Indian players couldn’t make a cut into the 15-member World Cup squad announced by India.

Opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan and leg-spinner Yuzi Chahal are the ones who are also left out from the World Cup squad.

KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah have now recovered from their injuries and are now included in the World Cup squad as well.

Suryakumar Yadav has retained his place in India’s ICC World Cup squad on the back of his T20I performances and the promise he has shown in T20 cricket, selectors believe that he can still add value to the ODI team even though his ODI numbers are quite ordinary.

INDIA’S WORLD CUP SQUAD:

The squad will be led by the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as the deputy for the upcoming ICC cricket World Cup in India.

The ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be played from OCTOBER – NOVEMBER. The opening match is scheduled for 5 OCTOBER, and the final of the World Cup will take place eon 19 NOVEMBER.
