India has thrashed Srilanka in the 2023 Asia Cup tournament final by 10 wickets and lifted their eighth Asia Cup title.

This is the seventh time India has lifted the ODI Asia Cup title followed by one T20 Asia Cup title as well in the Asia Cup history.

No team has won more Asia Cup tournaments in the Asia Cup history than India which has won a total of eight tournaments.

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first but they didn’t know what was going to hit them in the next 15 overs.

FIRST INNINGS:

Sri Lanka batted first but this decision will haunt them as they were bundled out for just 50 runs in the 2023 Asia Cup final against India.

Only two of the ten batters of Sri Lanka got into double figures in the first innings, Kusal Mendis and Dushan Hemantha scored 17 and 13 runs respectively, as they were the highest runs scorers for Sri Lanka in the match.

Muhammad Siraj completed his fifer in just 16 balls and destroyed the batting line-up of Sri Lanka. He bowled 7 overs in the match and picked up six wickets for just 21 runs in the Asia Cup 2023 final.

Srilanka was all out for just 50 runs and the target was 51 runs for India to win their seventh Asia Cup title in ODI format.

SECOND INNINGS:

In the run chase, India seemed to be batted on a different wicket altogether as they chased down the target in just 6.1 overs.

Ishan Kishan scored 23 runs with three fours, and Shubman Gill scored 27 runs with six fours as India chased down the target inside the powerplay.

India won the match by 10 wickets against Sri Lanka and lifted their seventh Asia Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final.
