Kumar Sangakkara Picks His Favorite Teams For The World Cup 2023

ICC WORLD CUP 2023:

The ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be played from OCTOBER – NOVEMBER. The opening match will be played on 5 OCT and the final match is scheduled on 19 NOV, 2023.

The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup is just around the corner and every cricket expert is giving his opinion on who will be the favorite to win the title this year.

KUMAR SANGAKKARA PICKS HIS FAVORITE TEAMS FOR THE WORLD CUP 2023:

While talking to STAR SPORTS, the legendary batsman and wicket-keeper of Srilanka has also named his favorite teams for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

The former Srilankan picked four teams that he thinks will play in the semi-finals of the tournament. Sangakkara believes that India and England are the top favorites to win the ICC World Cup 2023.

 Along with that, Kumar Sangakkara also indicated to keep an eye on Srilanka because they have played really good cricket in the recent past. Srilanka has won the 2022 Asia Cup against Pakistan as well as the 2023 Asia Cup against India.

‘’ I think England and India are going to be the top favorites. I saw Srilanka play the last game and how they played throughout the Asia Cup 2023. In big tournaments, Srilanka does very well, so they could be challenging in the playoffs. Once you are in the playoffs, it’s a game away. You have a good day, you are in the final ‘’, Sangakkara added.

Kumar Sangakkara also named South Africa as his fourth team which he thinks is in good form and can be s force to reckon with in the World Cup 2023.

‘’ South Africa, I think is also up there because of their performances and the form Heinrich Klassen is in at the moment ‘’, he further added.

The former cricketer and commentator also highlighted that there are many teams that are good enough to challenge for the World Cup 2023 title but India and England are the strongest among all of the teams.

‘’ There are so many contenders for the World Cup but I would put England and India as the strongest with few others that can really challenge ‘’, Kumar Sangakkara concluded.
