LATEST ICC ODI RANKINGS: BABAR RETAINS HIS TOP SPOT AS FAKHAR JUMPS TO SECOND SPOT

ICC ODI RANKINGS:

Babar Azam as we all know is one of the world’s best batsmen at the moment and his rankings prove that as well, he is the ICC ranked #1 ODI batsman for more than two years now and is still not in any mood to leave that spot. In the latest ICC ODI Rankings, Pakistani captain Babar Azam has again retained his #1 ODI rank once again and has continued his dominance at the ICC ODI Rankings.

The major update in this latest ICC ODI rankings update is that Fakhar Zaman has jumped high, he was ranked at #10 before the start of this series but because of his recent form, he has now become the new #2 ranked ODI batsman in the ICC ODI Rankings on the back of his brilliant performances against the New Zealand team.

Fakhar Zaman has scored two back-to-back centuries against the New Zealand team in the ODI series which has taken him to the top of the ODI Rankings just behind his captain Babar Azam and with three more matches to go in this series he can close the rating points and can challenge Babar Azam for the top rankings as well.

The left-handed opening batsman of Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman scored a brilliant century, he scored 117 runs vs New Zealand to start the series with a win for his team which was followed by another exceptional knock in a chase of 300+ he just stunned everyone with an innings of 180* runs, his 3RD highest individual score in an ODI innings ever for his country.

The right-handed batsman from South Africa, Rassie Van Der Dussen is the #3 ranked ODI batsman in the latest ICC ODI Rankings followed by the Indian opener, Shubman Gill who is the #4 ranked ODI batter in the ICC ODI Rankings and is the highest ranked ODI batsman from the Indian Cricket Team.

Pakistan’s left-hander, Imam Ul Haq is the thirdhighest-ranked Pakistani batter in the Pakistan team, he has not performed badly in this series but still, that was not enough to maintain his spot and now he is ranked as the 5TH number in the latest ODI Rankings update by the ICC.

CAN FAKHAR ZAMAN DETHRONE BABAR AZAM?

Fakhar Zaman before was ranked the #10 ODI batter before the start of the ODI series vs NZ, with rating points of 699, and now after the good knocks he has attained his career-best 784 rating points – Fakhar Zaman is now the second-best ranked ODI batsman after Babar Azam and can challenge him for the top spot but for that he still has to get to the remaining 100+ rating points.
