HARIS DETERMINED TO IMPROVE HIS GAME:

Muhammad Haris, the right-handed explosive Pakistani batsman aims to take his game to the next level as he thinks he needs to bat with patience.

The right-handed Pakistani batsman has a huge name in T20 cricket because of his explosive batting and wide range of shots but he lacks patience at the crease which is a thing he needs to look into considering his future in other formats of the game.

Muhammad Haris is considered one of the best young talents in Pakistan who can play shots all around the ground and has the capability to hit big shots on his will, he impressed everyone in Pakistan Super League and was awarded a T20I debut. He won games for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup and for that brilliant performance, he is now a permanent member of Pakistan’s T20I squad as well.

• MUHAMMAD HARIS WAS THE SECOND-HIGHEST RUNS SCORER FOR PESHAWAR ZALMI IN THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED SEASON OF THE PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE, HE SCORED A TOTAL OF 350 RUNS IN 12 MATCHES AT AN AVERAGE OF 31 – HE SCORED ALL THESE RUNS AT A WHOPPING STRIKE RATE OF AROUND 180.

Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman, Muhammad Haris understands the importance of playing with patience so that he could convert his knocks into a big ones rather than just giving a quick start and then losing his wicket to a rash shot, this type of gameplay will not give him any benefit going forward, so he knows he needs to evolve his game.

The Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman says that now he understands the importance of singles and doubles in the game, he can’t just be successful with big hits and for him to score runs consistently, he thinks he should focus on this part of his game as well.

‘’ I can hit sixes and fours, but I need to concentrate on taking singles and doubles as well ‘’, Muhammad Haris on improving his game.

Muhammad Haris generally has a reputation for hitting huge sixes and smashing the ball to the boundary for fours but what he needs to learn is that he how he can play long innings, take the game deep, and take calculated risks which will help him to score runs at his full potential.

‘’ If I bat with a little bit of patience, I can convert my 35 runs into 50 runs, and my 50 runs into 70 run knock. For that I need to practice ground shots and bring improvement in that area of my game ‘’, he added.

The young Pakistani batsman also shared his dream that he wants to represent Pakistan in all three formats of the game because people are labeling him as T20 material because of his aggressive nature, not many would think or even consider him for ODIs or TEST cricket but still he aims to reply back with his performances for Pakistan in all formats.

To elaborate on his point, he also gave an example of an Australian player, Adam Gilchrist changed the face of wicket-keeper batting, despite being a very attacking batsman, he was very successful in all formats for Australia and is now considered a legendary batsman played for Australia. Muhammad Haris wants to follow in his footsteps and has a dream to represent Pakistan in all formats.

• ADAM GILCHRIST PLAYED A TOTAL OF MORE THAN 400+ MATCHES FOR AUSTRALIA AND SCORED A TOTAL OF MORE THAN 15,000 RUNS FOR HIS TEAM AS A WICKET-KEEPER BATSMAN IN ALL THREE FORMATS OF THE GAME.

‘’ My aim is to represent Pakistan in all three formats just because I play aggressively, it doesn’t mean that I only want to be restricted to T20s only. Adam Gilchrist used to play all three formats even though he was also an aggressive style batsman ‘’, he concluded.

Muhammad Haris has already represented Pakistan in two formats, he has made his T20I as well as ODI debut for Pakistan but was dropped from the ODI squad because of his aggressive gameplay, which doesn’t suit the formats but now he is determined to work hard so that he can get another chance to represent Pakistan again in formats other than T20 cricket.
