PAKISTAN’S SQUAD FOR EMERGING ASIA CUP 2023:

ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to be played next month and Pakistan’s squad for the Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023 is announced that will play against India on 16 July 2023.

EMERGING ASIA CUP 2023:

The 2023 Emerging Asia Cup is scheduled to be played in Srilanka next month and this tournament will take place next month from July 14 to July 23 to fight for the final prize in the tournament.

FORMAT –

This tournament is organized by the Asian Cricket Council for the betterment and development of the future talent of the Asian Teams and this year it will be the fifth season of this tournament of the Emerging Asia Cup that will be played in the ODI format.

Pakistan Shaheens are also the defending champions in this tournament as they defeated Bangladesh in the last edition of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2019. Pakistan Shaheens won the final match comprehensively by 77 runs at Dhaka Cricket Stadium.

GROUPS:

A total of eight teams will take part in this tournament, all the teams are divided into two different groups which are as follows;

GROUP A consists of Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Srilanka.

GROUP B consists of Bangladesh, Oman, Afghanistan, and UAE.

  • TOP TWO SIDES FROM EACH GROUP WILL REACH THE SEMIFINALS OF THE TOURNAMENT.
  • THE WINNER OF THE TWO SEMIFINALS WILL MOVE FURTHER TO THE FINALS.
  • THE WINNER OF THE FINAL WILL BAG THE TROPHY AS THE BEST ASIAN EMERGING TEAM 2023 SEASON.

PAKISTAN’S SQUAD FOR THE EMERGING ASIA CUP:

The team that will tour Srilanka next month for the top spot in the Asia Cup 2023 is announced by Pakistan and the team will be led by the young Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman, Muhammad Haris, and the young Pakistani batter Omair Bin Yousaf is named as his deputy in the tournament.

Many star Pakistani players who have already represented Pakistan are named in the squad – the like Muhammad Haris, Arshad Iqbal, Kamran Ghulam, Muhammad Wasim Jnr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Tayyab Tahir have already represented the main Pakistan team and all these players will be a part of the Pakistan team in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023 season.

Some of the Pakistani players like Abdul Wahid Bangalzai, Rohail Nazir (the former captain of Pakistan A), Muhammad Junaid, and Abbass Afridi (the highest wicket-taker of Pakistan Super League 2023 season) are in reserves for the ACC Emerging Asia Cup.

  • The announced squad will take part in a long week training camp for better practice at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore after the Eid Ul Adha celebrations. The team announced for the Pakistan Shaheens will arrive in Colombo on 12TH July to take part in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup this year.

PAKISTAN’S MATCHES IN THE EMERGING ASIA CUP:

Pakistan team will play three matches in the 2023 Emerging Asia Cup tournament next month in Srilanka – they will play their three Group Stage matches against Nepal, India, and Srilanka A teams.

Pakistan Shaheens will play three back-to-back matches with a gap of one day per match in this tournament, they will play against Nepal A team on 14 July, followed by arch-rivals India on 16 July, and their last group stage match will be against Srilanka A team on 18 July in Srilanka. To qualify for the semifinals, the fate of Pakistan Shaheens will be decided by how they fare in these matches and it will be really disappointing if they couldn’t defend their title in this tournament.
