The biggest news related to the participation of the Pakistani players in ILT20 is here as it is confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi becomes the first top Pakistani player who has been signed in the ILT20.
The International League T20 is a T20 tournament that is played in UAE and is approved by the Emirates Cricket Board. This tournament is expected to be one of the biggest T20 tournaments in the near future as it will attract many big names in World cricket.
The biggest pace sensation of Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi has reportedly confirmed that he has been signed in the ILT20 League. Shaheen Shah Afridi is all set to play for the Desert Vipers in the upcoming edition of the ILT20 League.
Desert Vipers have disclosed this deal with a social media post on which there were cues for the fans, which will lead us to the confirmation that Shaheen Shah Afridi has been signed by Vipers in the ILT20 2024 season.
International T20 League did their best last year as well when they tried to acquire Pakistani players for the tournament but the former chairman, Ramiz Raja didn’t allow the players to participate in the ILT20 League. This year it is confirmed that Pakistani players will be seen featuring in ILT20 League.
It is reported that the left-arm pacer of Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi is going to be the highest-paid player to feature in the ILT20 League.
The former captain of Pakistan, Rashid Latif on Twitter has also confirmed this by quoting, ‘’ HIGHEST PAID PLAYER IN ILT20 HISTORY [Shaheen Afridi] ‘’, which means it is almost confirmed that, till now Shaheen will be the most expensive buy in the ILT20 history.
Even though the number is not revealed yet but as far as we know, it is reported that last year in the first season of the ILT20, it is circulated on media that an amount of around USD 900,000 was offered to the big names of Pakistan cricket, which includes the likes of Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi were offered this amount along with captaincy of teams in the ILT20.
Earlier, the Chief Operating Officer of the ILT20 confirmed that Pakistan Cricket Board has allowed the players of Pakistan to feature in ILT20 and many big names of Pakistan cricket will be seen playing in ILT20 in the upcoming season.
It started with the inclusion of Shaheen Shah Afridi in the ILT20 2024 and soon we will see other big names such as Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan signing for the ILT20 franchises.
Pakistan Cricket Board has also allowed the players to feature in various leagues all round the world. Shaheen Shah Afridi is currently playing in England and is seen playing Vitality Blast, as well as in The Hundred tournament.
