T20 WORLD CUP 2024 SCHEDULE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND TEAMS
T20 WORLD CUP 2024:
The 9TH edition of the ICC T20 World Cup will be played in 2024, this tournament is one of the most awaited mega-events as we all know cricket fans love to see T20 matches, and is also the favorite format nowadays.
The last edition of this tournament took place in Australia and was played between the Top 16 T20 teams from all over the world, PAKISTAN and ENGLAND reached the FINAL of the ICC World Cup 2022 and ENGLAND won the low-scoring thriller against PAKISTAN.
ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2024 SCHEDULE:
The 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup will be played after the completion of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, this 2024 Cricket World Cup will be played in T20 format In USA and is expected to be played around JUNE – JULY 2024.
The official dates regarding the start of the tournament are not announced officially but we are expecting that the official confirmed dates will be announced by the ICC in some months of time, we will keep you all updated about the dates and the schedule.
ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2024 QUALIFICATIONS:
There will be a total of 20 teams that will feature in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, those 20 teams are divided into the following categories and which is as follows;
- TOP EIGHT TEAMS FROM THE 2022 ICC CRICKET WORLD CUP TOURNAMENT.
- TWO TEAMS THAT ARE HOSTS, UNITED STATES AND THE WEST INDIES TEAM.
- REST OF THE TWO SPORTS ARE FOR THE BEST TOP-RANKED TEAMS FROM THE ICC T20I RANKINGS.
- REMAINING EIGHT SPOTS ARE FOR THE TEAMS THAT WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THE WORLD CUP QUALIFIER TOURNAMENTS
QUALIFIER TOURNAMENTS – Followings are the tournaments that provide a road for the other 8 teams to qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 for the T20 format;
- AFRICA QUALIFIER
- ASIA QUALIFIER
- AMERICAS QUALIFIER
- EAST ASIA – PACIFIC QUALIFIER
- EUROPE QUALIFIER
ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2024 TEAMS:
In the next scheduled ICC T20 World Cup 2024, as already mentioned that a total of 20 teams will participate in the tournament and those 20 teams will be divided into four groups.
Furthermore, these five teams placed in each group will play against each other and then the teams will move to the SUPER 8 stages, followed by the knockout stages such as the SEMIS and FINAL of the ICC World Cup 2024.
