TOP PAKISTANI PLAYERS PICKED IN LPL 2023 AUCTION
DETAILS OF PAKISTANI PLAYERS IN LPL 2023 AUCTION:
Lanka Premier League 2023 becomes the third league to successfully hold its first auction and many Pakistani players were picked in the Auction draft of LPL 2023.
The Lanka Premier League 2023 season Auction draft took place on June 14, 2023, which is a very historical event in the history of the Lanka Premier League, this auction draft has attracted many big names of Pakistan cricket, and here are the players picked in the LPL 2023 auction.
The 2023 season of the Lanka Premier League is scheduled to take place from July 30, 2023, to August 22, 2023, and the squads of all five teams are shaped up very well before the start of the tournament.
Some of the top Pakistani players like the captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and the dynamic opener Fakhar Zaman weren’t available to bid in the auction because they were picked by their respective teams before the auction ceremony as Babar Azam and Naseem Shah were signed by Colombo Strikers with Fakhar Zaman to play for Kandy Falcons and the deal with these Pakistani players was already done.
Each team in the tournament comprises 20 players in the squad, no team can pick more than six overseas star players, and the rest of the players in the squad should be Srilankan players.
If we talk about the auction money, as stated by the SLC board, each franchise can bid up to US $500,000 for the players in the auction draft, which means the total value of the auction draft of the LPL 2023 season is $ 2.5 Million which is a huge amount and Pakistani players got a huge share out of this bidding money.
PAKISTANI PLAYERS PICKED IN LPL AUCTION
Many of Pakistan’s T20 players registered themselves in the LPL 2023 auction but not everyone was meant to be picked, here are the details of the players that are picked in the LPL auction, which are as follows;
SHOAIB MALIK:
Shoaib Malik, the experienced all-rounder of the Pakistan team who plays leagues all around the world registered himself for the LPL 2023 auction and no one leaves an experienced campaigner like him, so Shoaib Malik is once again picked in the Lanka Premier League 2023 season by the Jaffna Kings.
ASIF ALI:
Asif Ali as we all know is one with a reputation as a huge six-hitter who bats in the middle and lower order and damages bowlers at the end of the game, Asif Ali has been picked by Kandy Falcons for the upcoming LPL season.
IFTIKHAR AHMED:
Iftikhar Ahmed is a proper middle-order batsman as well as an off-spinner who can give you some overs. Iftikhar Ahmed plays for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League and is now picked by Colombo Strikers in the 2023 LPL season.
MUHAMMAD HARIS:
Muhammad Haris is one of the best young talents in Pakistan and he gets his reward for some brilliant performances in the Pakistan Super League 2023 season. He was the best opener in the recent PSL season who used to give some quick starts in the power-play and is now picked by Kandy Falcons for the upcoming LPL 2023 season.
WAHAB RIAZ:
Wahab Riaz as you all know is one of the veterans of the game, he also played for Peshawar Zalmi under the captaincy of Babar Azam and is again picked by Colombo Strikers which also includes Babar Azam. Wahab Riaz has a huge experience in T20 cricket all around the world as he has been playing this format for many years.
SHAHNAWAZ DAHANI:
Shahnawaz Dahani, another bowler from Pakistan who has also made his debut for Pakistan as well, lost his place in the team but now seems to be back in rhythm. Dahani will be seen in action for Dambulla Aura in the upcoming season of the Lanka Premier League.
ZAMAN KHAN:
Zaman Khan is another Pakistani pacer who is picked in the Lanka Premier League 2023 season, he is the PDP product of Lahore Qalandars who has also made his T20I debut for Pakistan and is now a very hot property for T20 franchises all around the world and now we will see him for Jaffna Kings in LPL 2023.
AAMER JAMAL:
Aamer Jamal is a young Pakistani all-rounder who as we all know is a very talented batsman as well as a good bowler and has proved in PSL and can bowl 140 KPH+ as well. Aamer Jamal will play for Kandy Falcon in the upcoming LPL season.
MUHAMMAD NAWAZ:
Muhammad Nawaz, a very experienced Pakistani all-rounder who plays for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League will now play for Colombo Strikers along with his National team’s captain, Babar Azam in the upcoming LPL 2023 season.
- All the five teams that are taking part in the competition already signed four players each in their squad before the start of the auction draft of the LPL 2023.

Almost all of the young and emerging talented players from Pakistan along with many experienced T20 Pakistani stars were available in the 2023 Auction of the Lanka Premier League.
