Aakash Chopra Picks His Four Semi-Finalists For The ICC World Cup 2023
ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Four Semi-Finalists:
India’s renowned cricket commentator and YouTuber, Aakash Chopra picked the four teams that he thinks will qualify for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Semis.
Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel revealed his four best teams for the World Cup 2023, he believes that these teams should qualify for the Semis as they are the best in the world right now.
India’s commentator, Aakash Chopra also expressed his views regarding naming the Indian team as a favorite for the World Cup. He feels that there is no doubt that India is the favorite for the title winner because of the home advantage and this is because the previous three World Cups were won by the home teams.
‘’ Yes, India is the favorite to win the world cup as the world cup is in India and the home team is the favorite. We know that England won World Cup 2019 in England, Australia won the World Cup in 2015, and India was the winner when the World Cup was played in India ‘’, Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel.
He feels that India has the best chance to lift the title as many home teams have also done this in the past as well. Even India has already done this once when they won the World Cup 2011, which was held in India.
‘’ So, the previous three world cups were won by the home teams and that’s why India does have a chance. It is fair to mark the home team as the favorite because, in 50 overs format, we have seen home teams winning the last three World Cups ‘’, Aakash Chopra added.
Aakash Chopra also revealed his four teams for the Semi Final spot of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He picked both India and Pakistan, as well as England and Australia for the top spot in the group stage of the tournament.
‘’ Of course, India is one of the favorites and the front runners for the trophy. The three other teams alongside India as the semi-finalists for the World Cup 2023 are Pakistan, as they have a very good ODI team. England and Australia are the other two teams I feel will qualify for the semis ‘’, Aakash Chopra further added.
He said that even though he thinks that these teams will qualify but it’s an ICC event and anything could happen, he also mentioned New Zealand who always enters the ICC event as the underdogs of the tournament.
‘’ If any of these teams don’t qualify for the semis, personally I will be a bit shocked but it can happen as New Zealand is also there and it’s an ICC event ‘’, he concluded.
The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be played from 5 OCTOBER, 2023 – 19 NOVEMBER, 2023. The upcoming ICC World Cup will be played in India as they are the host nation for this tournament.
