GT20 2023 – Abbas Afridi Picks Up A Hat-Trick As Well As Fifer In GT20 League

The right-arm young all-rounder, Abbas Afridi gave an exceptional performance in GT20 League as he picked up a hat-trick as well as a fifer for Montreal Tigers.

The thrilling match between Vancouver Knights and Montreal Tigers ended up in favor of Montreal Tigers following this excellent bowling performance by Abbas Afridi, who bowled brilliantly in his four overs spell.

The young Pakistani pacer, Abbas Afridi performed exceptionally well in the QUALIFIER 2 match between Montreal Knights and Vancouver Knights, which eventually helped his team to qualify for the final of the GT20 Canada League.

In the first innings of the match, Muhammad Rizwan gave a solid start as he scored 39 runs off 33 deliveries, with the help of two fours and one six but after his dismissal, Abbas Afridi dismantled the middle order of the Vancouver Knights on the back of some brilliant bowling effort.

The young pacer, Abbas Afridi has also picked up a hat-trick in the Pakistan Super League for Multan Sultans, where he plays under the captaincy of Muhammad Rizwan, and last night his performance knocked out Muhammad Rizwan’s team in Gt20 League out of the competition.

Abbas Afridi in his brilliant spell last night, picked up a hat-trick which includes the wickets of Corbin Bosch, who was playing a brilliant hand for Knights, followed by the wickets of Rassie Van der Dussen, and Najibullah Zadran, for golden ducks in the match. This performance helped the Tigers to wrap them off to a low score in the all-important knockout match.

Abbas Afridi continued his brilliant bowling and picked up a fifer as well, apart from the hat-trick, he picked up the wickets of Aravind and Fabian Allen as well.

Montreal Knights picked up six wickets of the Vancouver Knights, and out of those six wickets, five wickets were taken by Abbas Afridi.

The top efforts from Abbas Afridi and Sherfane Rutherford helped his team win the match. Sherfane’s scored a brilliant knock of 48 runs in 34 balls, with the help of two fours and three consecutive sixes, which came in the final three balls of the match and helped his team to chase down the target in the last overs of the match.

Abbas Afridi has now picked up a hat-trick in every league, he has played so far in his short career. He has claimed a hat-trick in Pakistan Super League, Kashmir Premier League, and now in the GT20 Canada League as well.

The young Pakistani pacer picked up 5 wickets and gave away just 29 runs in his quota of four overs, his exceptional bowling effort helped him win the Man of the Match award as Montreal Tigers won the match by 1 wicket.
