Alex Hales Announces Retirement:

The right-handed English opener, Alex Hales has announced his retirement from international cricket. He played international cricket for England as a top-order batsman for a long time is retired at the age of around 35 years.

England’s top-order batsman, Alex Hales was out of the team for around two years and came back after a long time in the team. He played in the 2022 T20 World Cup and was part of England’s World Cup winning side in Australia.

Alex Hales made his T20I debut for England in 2011 and is playing as a top-order batter for more than a decade. Unexpectedly, Alex Hales has now announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.

The 34-year-old English opener, Alex Hales took to Instagram and announced his retirement along with a heart whelming note in which he thanked England for this wonderful opportunity to play the game for his country.

Alex Hales has represented England in all three formats of the game. He played 156 matches for England and in those 163 innings, he has scored more than 5000 international runs for England at an average of around 33 runs.

The top-order English batsman has scored 31 fifties and 7 centuries for England in all three formats of the game. He hasn’t scored any century in Test cricket but has scored six centuries in ODI cricket and one century in T20I cricket for England.

‘’ It’s been an absolute privilege to have represented my country on 156 occasions across all three formats ‘’, Alex Hales added.

‘’ Throughout my time in an England shirt I have experienced some of the highs as well as some of the lowest lows. It’s been an incredible journey and I feel very content that my last game for England was winning a World Cup final ‘’, he further added.

Alex Hales has announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect but he has announced that he will be available to play in certain T20 leagues and for his Vitality Blast team, Nottinghamshire team.

‘’ I look forward to continuing to play for Notts and experiencing more franchise cricket around the world ‘’, he concluded.

The right-handed English opener played his last test match for England in 2016 vs Pakistan, and his last ODI match was in 2019 against West Indies. He played his last international T20I match for the England team in NOVEMBER 2022, against Pakistan.
