Australia Jumps To The Top Of ODI Rankings, Pakistan Slips To No.2 Position

Australia Jumps To The Top Of ODI Rankings:

The Australian cricket team is recently playing a 5-match ODI series against South Africa away from home.

Some brilliant performances from Australia in the first ODI matches have helped them to jump to the No.1 spot in the ICC rankings.

Pakistan was the top-ranked ODI team in the ICC ODI Rankings after they defeated Afghanistan 3-0 and claimed the top spot in the ICC Rankings.

Now Australia has defeated South Africa and has claimed the top spot in the ODI Rankings from Pakistan. Australia is now ranked #1 with 121 points while Pakistan is at second with 120 rating points.

Pakistan has a chance to surpass Australia again with the win against India in the Asia Cup 2023, the Super 4 stage of the tournament.

FIRST INNINGS:

Australia batted first in the second ODI match and with a huge batting effort, they posted a mammoth total of 392 runs against South Africa.

Some exceptional knocks from Australian batters including centuries from David Warner and Marnus Labuschange helped Australia score this huge total against South Africa.

Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of the bowlers who picked up four wickets, Rabada also picked up two wickets but was very expensive in the match.

SECOND INNINGS:

South Africa looked like they were in the run chase because of the brisk start given by their openers but eventually couldn’t continue that good start.

De Kock, Temba Bavuma, Klaasen, and David Miller played some good knocks by but they failed to chase down the huge target of 393 runs against Australia.

Adan Zampa, Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, and Hardie bowled beautifully to dismiss South Africa for just 269 runs in the huge run chase.
