Babar Azam Makes His Debut In The LPL 2023 Without A Betting Logo On His Jersey

Babar Azam In LPL 2023:

The Captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam plays the first match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 for Colombo Strikers without featuring the betting logo on his jersey.

One of the best batsmen across the globe, Babar Azam was signed by Strikers, and for the first time he is playing in the Lanka Premier League, he will be playing for the Colombo Strikers in the Lanka Premier League 2023 season.

The Lanka Premier League 2023 will be played from 30 JULY 2023 – 20 AUGUST, 2023 and 24 T20 matches are scheduled to be played in this T20 league of Srilanka.

The betting companies are nowadays sponsoring many T20 franchises across the globe and the same is the thing in the Lanka premier League as well but some Pakistani cricketers are still not accepting those logos on their jerseys.

The Pakistani captain, Babar Azam is also one of those cricketers who don’t allow these betting sponsors to be placed on their jerseys and that’s why Babar Azam has already conveyed to the Colombo Strikers management that he will be playing without that logo on his jersey.

The management of Colombo Strikers accepted the request of the Pakistani captain and in the first match of Colombo Strikers against Jaffna Kings, Babar Azam was seen without a logo on his jersey which other cricketers were featuring on their jersey.

So, we can conclude that this might be that same logo which Babar Azam asked Colombo management to remove from his jersey in the Lanka Premier League 2023 season.

Some other top Pakistani cricketers, such as Naseem Shah, Muhammad Nawaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Wahab Riaz are also roped in by Colombo Strikers in the Lanka Premier League 2023.

Muhammad Nawaz, and Naseem Shah were in the playing XI of the Colombo Strikers for the first match along with Babar Azam, both of them were seen playing with that same logo on their shirt which wasn’t displayed on their captain Babar Azam’s jersey in the LPL 2023.

As we all know, Pakistani players feature in many T20 leagues all around the world but not all Pakistani cricketers protest against the promoting of betting logos on their jerseys and the same was in the LPL 2023 where Babar Azam isn’t displaying that logo on his jersey but some other Pakistani cricketers don’t have any problems with that logo on their shirts.

Muhammad Rizwan was seen with a similar type of stance in the HBL Pakistan Super League where he covered the logo of a betting company, playing for Multan Sultans but the other cricketers in the Sultan’s franchise playing whole season without any objection on that betting logo.

Babar Azam doesn’t features much in the overseas T20 leagues because of the packed National team schedule. Even though he is playing in LPL 2023 but he might not be available for the complete Lanka Premier League 2023.

This partial availability is because of the Afghanistan series against Pakistan that is scheduled to be played in AUGUST. The dates aren’t confirmed but if the ODI series will be played in the third week of AUGUST, Babar Azam might have to leave Colombo Strikers for the National duty.
