The logo of various betting companies are quite normal on jerseys of various t20 franchises across the globe and the same betting companies are sponsoring teams in Lanka Premier League 2023.
Even though this has been normal nowadays in world cricket but Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam seems to be unhappy with this logo on his shirt and wants to change this trend.
The captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam has been signed by Colombo Strikers in the upcoming season of the Lanka Premier League 2023, Naseem Shah has also joined the same team and will play with Babar Azam in the same team in Lanka Premier League.
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam has decided on to show any flexibility in his principles and has conveyed this message to the management of the Colombo Strikes that he will not promote the logo of any Betting company on his jersey in the upcoming Lanka Premier League 2023.
The logos of betting companies are placed on jerseys of t20 franchises across the globe but according to reports, Babar Azam who is all set to play in the Lanka Premier League has decided not to be a part of that group to promote these companies and has declined to any placement of that logo on his shirt.
- According to media reports, the stand of Babar Azam on not allowing the logo of any betting companies on his jersey is conveyed to Colombo Strikers and they have accepted his request as well.
One of the world’s best batsmen will be making his debut in the Lankan League 2023, he will be in action for Colombo Strikers in the Lanka Premier League which is set to take place from July 30 – August 22.
MUHAMMAD RIZWAN’S STANCE ON BETTING LOGOS:
Recently, in the previous edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League, Muhammad Rizwan was another Pakistani cricketer who covered the logo of a Betting company that was placed on his jersey.
The Pakistani wicket keeper batsman played for Multan Sultans as captain and was seen covering the “Wolf 777 News” when he came to know about this sponsorship logo is related to the betting website, because betting logos are still illegal in Pakistan and that’s why these companies use proxy sponsorships for the team’s sponsorship.
PAKISTAN VS SRILANKA 2023 TEST SERIES SCHEDULE:
Pakistan Cricket Team is also scheduled to play a series against Srilanka, the two-match test series of Pakistan vs Srilanka will be a part of the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Cycle.
- The matches of the Pakistan team are scheduled to be played on two different venues, the two test matches will be played from 16 July – 28 July in Srilanka.
Recently, the captain of the Pakistan team has returned to Pakistan after performing Hajj and now he will be featuring in the training camp of the Pakistan team in Karachi for the training and conditioning of players for the upcoming test series against Srilanka.
