Babar Holds The Top Spot As Shubman Gill Closes On Gap In The Latest ICC Rankings

ICC LATEST ODI RANKINGS:

The captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam is still the top-ranked ODI batsman in the latest updated ICC rankings.

Indian opening batsman, Shubman Gill now has the best chance to dethrone Babar Azam from the #1 ODI spot in the ICC rankings.

Babar Azam has been the #1 ranked batsman in the ICC ODI Rankings since 2021 and is sitting comfortably at the top with 857 rating points.

India’s opener, Shuman Gill is the second highest-ranked batsman in the ICC ODI Rankings and he again closes on the gap with Babar Azam for the top spot.

Shubman Gill currently has 814 rating points in the ICC ODI Rankings and these are the best ever rating points of Shubman Gill in ODI rankings.

Shubman Gill scored 123 runs against a low-ranked Bangladesh team in a losing cause on which ICC rewarded him with 42 rating points.

He scored a 27 not out against another low-ranked Srilanka team and he got a further 13 points which means he now stands at 414 rating points just behind Babar Azam.

There is now a difference of just 43 rating points between Babar Azam and Shubman Gill and this means Gill has a great chance to get the top-ranked ODI spot in the ICC ODI Rankings.

Shubman Gill has a chance because the Indian team is scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against a full-strength Australia at home before the start of the ICC World Cup 2023.

The Indian opener, Shubman Gill needs around 200 runs in the 3-match ODI series against Australia to become the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world.

Imam Ul Haq is ranked at the fourth spot in the latest ICC ODI Rankings with 728 rating points, he is Pakistan’s second batsman in the top 5 ODI Rankings.
