Asia Cup 2023: Bangladesh And Srilanka Qualified For The Super 4s As Afghanistan Knocked Out Of The Tournament

The defending champions of the 2023 Asia Cup, Sri Lanka along with Bangladesh have qualified for the SUPER 4 stages of the Asia Cup 2023.

Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan were placed in GROUP B of the Asia Cup 2023, and out of three teams, only two teams could qualify for the SUPER 4 stages.

Each team played two matches in the group stage of the tournament, and after that two teams Bangladesh and Sri Lanka qualified for Round 2 of the Asia Cup 2023.

Afghanistan played their two matches and lost both of their matches against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. They failed to qualify for the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup.

BANGLADESH:

Bangladesh was the first team from Group B to qualify for the second round of the Asia Cup 2023 as they won their match against Afghanistan.

They failed to win against Srilanka but eventually, two points were enough to qualify for the SUPER 4 stages of the tournament.

SRILANKA:

Sri Lanka won both of their matches in the group stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and qualified for the SUPER 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023.

The two wins helped Sri Lanka to top Group B with four points under their belt and now they will continue to defend their title.

AFGHANISTAN:

Afghanistan lost both of their group-stage matches of the Asia Cup 2023 and as a result, they failed to qualify for the second round of the Asia Cup 2023.

No points from their group-stage games means Afghanistan is now eliminated from Group B and Sri Lanka moves to the second round.
