JUNAID KHAN RAISES CONCERNS ON PAKISTANI PLAYER’S INJURY

JUNAID KHAN RAISES CONCERNS ON PLAYER’S INJURY:

Shaheen Shah Afridi currently playing in the Vitality Blast 2023 isn’t performing at his level best as he has failed to pick wickets consistently for his team in the vitality blast, still, he has claimed four wickets but is also leaking runs around 9 runs per over which is not good according to his standards.

The former cricketer of Pakistan, Junaid Khan has also expressed his reservations about the performances of Shaheen Shah Afridi in the ongoing T20 blast because Shaheen Shah is playing consistently since his return from injury but has failed to meet the expectations of fans.

Junaid Khan, the left-handed pacer of Pakistan on his YouTube channel raised his concerns related to the performance of the premium Pakistani pacer who is playing regularly since his return – Khan thinks that this can affect the fitness of Shaheen Shah Afridi that too in a very important year with ICC Cricket World Cup just around the corner.

The former cricketer showed his concern about Pakistani bowlers playing various leagues at such a crucial time and he thinks Pakistan Cricket Board should’ve stopped the players from featuring in leagues ahead of the World Cup so that players can take enough rest before the important ICC event later this year.

‘’ Shaheen Shah Afridi plays all three formats for the Pakistan team. He recently returned from an injury and since his return to cricket, he has struggled in matches he has played so far. In my opinion, it would be better for everyone if Pakistan Cricket Board didn’t allow him to play in the T20 leagues and advised him to take some more rest and be ready for the World Cup 2023 ‘’, he added.

‘’ He should’ve taken a proper rest as the ICC World Cup 2023 is near and there are some series lined up for Pakistan and we need him. He is not needed in the leagues; we need him in the World Cup as he is the backbone of the Pakistan team ‘’, he further added.

Shaheen Shah Afridi since his return to cricket has played matches regularly for Lahore Qalandars, followed by matches for the Pakistan team, and now in Vitality Blast where his stats do not justify his name – even though his pace isn’t up to mark since his injury but Shaheen thinks as long as he is taking wickets he doesn’t care much about his pace.

In his latest interview, Junaid Khan also expressed his concerns about the fitness of all-rounder Shadab Khan who is also vice-captain of the Pakistan team and is currently in England for the Vitality Blast 2023 season.

The point raised by Junaid Khan is very important because Shadab Khan who is also allowed to participate in the T20 Blast 2023 has also suffered an injury in the recent ongoing T20 Blast 2023 where he injured himself while going for a catch on his debut for Sussex in the Vitality Blast but thankfully he is recovering fine from the injury as per the updates.

‘’ You know the news about Shadab Khan, the way he has already been through some injuries and still he was allowed to play the leagues. In my opinion, Pakistan Cricket Board should think about these things as these things can cost Pakistan in the future ‘’, he raised concerns about Shadab’s fitness.

The former Pakistani also appreciated Pakistan Cricket Board as they are allowing youngsters to play in the various T20 leagues around the world because he thinks it’s better for the youngsters to play in various leagues and learn from players all around the world.

Junaid Khan also raised a very important point that who will be responsible if any of the key members of the Pakistan team gets injured in any of these T20 leagues, he questioned PCB to think about this as this can haunt Pakistan in the upcoming ICC event in India.

‘’ Youngsters like Usama Mir and Zaman Khan are playing in the Vitality Blast which is better for them because when you allow these young players to participate in the T20 leagues it is good for them to gain experience and learn new things, but when you allow the senior Pakistani players like Shaheen Shah Afridi or even Shadab Khan it’s not good, God forbid if they are injured in the league while playing, Who will be responsible for that?? ‘’, he concluded.
