ODI WORLD CUP 2023 – PAKISTAN’S SECURITY TEAM TO VISIT INDIA FOR INSPECTION OF WORLD CUP VENUES

Pakistan Cricket Board already raised many concerns about the world cup venues of the Pakistan team and an inspection team is planning to visit India for more details on player’s security.
As PCB has already clarified their stance that they will tour India for the 2023 cricket world cup subject to clearance from Pakistan’s government, once they have ensured the player’s safety in India.
Pakistan is planning to send a delegation to India so that they can access the ground situation and present their report regarding the venues on which Pakistan will play their matches in the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
According to the media reports, Pakistan’s interior and foreign minister will consult in this regard with the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board about the time and the members of this delegation that will be sent to India to assess the Venus of the upcoming ICC World Cup in India.
- The new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to take charge of the office soon once the Eid vacations are over, the remaining things will be decided regarding the tour of Pakistan to India for the upcoming World Cup.
The spokesperson of the Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed that the tour of the Pakistan Cricket Team to India is solely based on the clearance of Pakistan’s government as a security delegation will present their report to the officials on which the decision will be conveyed soon and this same stance was clarified to the International Cricket Council as well.
‘’ The board requires permission from the government of Pakistan, for any tour to India regarding the world cup venues. The position is the same as we have shared with the International Cricket Council a couple of weeks ago when they shared the draft schedule with us regarding the upcoming World Cup ‘’, he said.
‘’ The security delegation will tour India and will inspect the venues on which Pakistan will play their world cup matches and the security arrangements made for them in the world cup 2023 will be taken into account ‘’, he further added.
The schedule of the Pakistan Cricket Team for the matches in the upcoming World Cup 2023 is announced by the ICC and as per the schedule, Pakistan Cricket Team will play their world cup matches on five venues – the venues on which Pakistan will play their matches in the world cup are Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.
- The delegation from Pakistan that will tour India to assess the ground situation and will ensure players’ safety will visit these five venues that are decided by the ICC and BCCI on which Pakistan will play their matches in the upcoming World Cup.
Previously, when ICC shared the draft schedule with the Pakistan Cricket Board, they raised concerns about their match against India at Ahmedabad but ICC didn’t entertain Pakistan’s request to change this World Cup venue and now everything will be based on the report that will be submitted by Pakistan’s security team after their tour of India.
