PAKISTANI PLAYERS IN IPL – MOODY AND MANJREKAR PICKED THE HIGHEST-PAID PAKISTANI PLAYER IN IPL

PAKISTANI PLAYERS IN IPL:

In a recent clip from ESPN Cricinfo, One of the world’s top commentators from Australia, Tom Moody and Sanjay Manjrekar from India featured as they were asked to name the top quality players from the Pakistan team who would get an IPL gig if the Pakistani players are allowed in the Indian Premier League.

As we all know, playing in the Indian Premier League is regarded as a turning point in any player’s career because the amount of viewership, fan base, and money you can get from performing in the Indian Premier League is unmatchable, even though there are many T20 leagues all around the world but no one can deny the aura of Indian Premier League in the world cricket.

There was a question raised in the ESPN T20 Time-Out, ‘’ In a perfect world which players do you think will get an IPL contract? ‘’, a question that most of the cricket fans would love to hear the answer from one of the top commentators in the world.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, one of the world’s best new ball bowlers who play for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League and has won two consecutive titles for his franchise as captain in the last 2 years, was the first name that popped out when Tom Moody started to express his views about the Pakistani cricketers in IPL.

Tom Moody also named some of the best players of the Pakistan Cricket Team which include the likes of the Pakistani all-format captain Babar Azam, the highest runs scorer in the history of the Pakistan Super League, and captain Peshawar Zalmi who is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the current era – the Australian commentator thinks he would definitely get an IPL gig in a perfect world.

The other Pakistani players who were named by the former Australian cricketer are Muhammad Rizwan, one of the best wk-batters in world cricket, and the vice-captain of the Pakistan white-ball team, Shadab Khan was also in his list along with the speedster Haris Rauf who is probably the fastest bowler in world cricket right now.

‘’ Shaheen Afridi for one, Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf; they have got a number of terrific players, particularly in this form of the game ‘’, Tom Moody picked his Pakistani players that would be a part of the Indian Premier League if circumstances allowed them.

Sanjay Manjrekar also chipped in during the discussion and the top Pakistani players like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Haris Rauf were named by Sanjay Manjrekar in Cricinfo Time-Out, who would get a contract in the Indian Premier League.

‘’ There are more bowlers from Pakistani we think, rather than the batters I think about. Fakhar Zaman could be an interesting choice for certain teams who bats in his own style. Shadab could’ve been a brilliant choice for any team ‘’, he added.

The Indian commentator also passed a comment on Pakistan’s premium wicket-keeper batsman, Muhammad Rizwan that he can fit in the IPL team if a team needs an anchor – the host asked him about this particular point on which he clarified that he doesn’t thinks that way about the Pakistani wicket-keeper but this is how he has seen him playing in the Pakistan T20I tam while opening with the captain, Babar Azam.

‘’ Muhammad Rizwan can also slot in as an anchor role and if any team needs someone in an anchor role, he can fit in as well. I am not labeling him as an anchor but it’s something – he tends to do, something that I get worried about when I see Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan playing together ‘’, Sanjay clarified his point related to Muhammad Rizwan.

Both the commentators, Tom Moody and Sanjay Manjrekar in the ESPN T20 Time–Out agreed that Pakistan’s premium pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi will be the hot pick at the auction table in the Indian Premier League and it would be a sight to watch him out in the IPL.

‘’ Shaheen Shah Afridi will be the number 1 pick in the Indian premier league, he would be a box office ‘’, Tom Moody rated Shaheen Shah Afridi highly in the IPL auction.

All the above discussion was for a ‘’ PERFECT WORLD ‘’, as mentioned because now Pakistani players aren’t allowed to play in the Indian Premier League because of the relations between both countries – Pakistani players used to play in the Indian Premier League and they last played in the 2008 season of the Indian Premier League and weren’t allowed to participate onwards from the 2009 IPL season.
