PSL 2024 Retained Players List – PSL 2024 Draft
As we all know after the Pakistan Super League season 8 which was scheduled to play in FEB – MARCH concluded as per the schedule, the next thing everyone is gonna look forward to is the players that the six teams that participate in Pakistan Super League will be retained for the next season of Pakistan Super League 2024 which as per my views written in this topic.
The official retentions of the Pakistan Super League 2024 season have been announced by the PSL official handle and the retentions of all PSL teams are given below:
PSL 2024 RETENTIONS RULES:
The next season of the Pakistan Super League is now the talk of the town and the news and updates always start from the retentions of players for the next season and for that the retention rules you can check the video given below:
Some of the rules are also listed below:
- SIX TEAMS WILL PICK THEIR SQUAD.
- EACH TEAM CAN RETAIN A MAX OF 8 PLAYERS IN THEIR NEW SQUAD FROM THEIR OLD SQUAD.
- THE PLAYERS ARE DIVIDED INTO CATEGORIES LIKE PLATINUM, DIAMOND, GOLD, SILVER, EMERGING, AND SUPPLEMENTARY CATEGORY.
- YOU CAN NOT RETAIN ALL THREE LOCALS OR ALL THREE OVERSEAS PLAYERS IN PLATINUM AND DIAMOND CATEGORY.
- EACH TEAM IS THEN ALLOWED TO PICK THEIR REMAINING PLAYERS FROM THE PSL DRAFT.
PSL 2024 DRAFT DETAILS:
In every T20 league or tournaments such as BPL, T10 League, SPL, etc, all the teams are shaped up by conducting a players draft and the players are picked by the respective franchises for their teams.
In the Pakistan Super League, the retention list is announced and after that the draft takes place to shape up the rest of the squads. The PSL 2024 draft will be scheduled after the PSL 2024 player list will be announced. The draft is expected to take place in the third week of December.
PSL 2024 FULL LIST OF EXPECTED PLAYER RETENTIONS:
The players that performed well in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League for their respective teams will definitely be prioritized in this retention list and no team wants to let their star player leave their team so here is the list of players expected to retain by each team.
The highest category in which the players can be retained by the respective franchises is PLATINUM category in which Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Rashid Khan and some other players will be retained by the PSL franchises.
The retained players and the list of all retentions by all franchises is released and the confirmed retentions from every team in PSL 2024 season are as follows:
PSL 2024 PESHAWAR ZALMI:
The best players of the previous season always made a cut to the next PSL 2024 season. A franchise is allowed to retain around 8 players from their previous roster and the retained players of Peshawar Zalmi for the Pakistan Super League 2024 edition are as follows;

Peshawar Zalmi also has the second pick in the Emerging Category at the PSL 2024 Draft pick order and which means they can get one between Haseeb or Sufiyan again in the PSL draft for the upcoming PSL 2024 season.
But it will be better for Haseebullah Khan to get some new colors in PSL 2024 because he wont be able to show his full potential in Zalmi as Peshawar cant offer him top order position.
PSL 2024 MULTAN SULTANS:
The players which made it into the next edition of the PSL for Multan Sultan’s previous season are retained by Multan Sultans for PSL 2024. The retained players of Multan Sultans for the Pakistan Super League 2024 edition are as follows;

Another good thing for Sultans is that Lahore might have filled their slot of Platinum players in their retentions so Multan will get the fifth and sixth picks consecutively in the PSL 2024 Platinum round, because Lahore wont be able to pick any player in the draft.
Multan Sultans can also look to release someone in their Diamond Category slot, if they want some other player to be retained in first place. Because, they also have the first pick in Diamond Category so they can get their desired player again in the PSL 2024 Draft.
PSL 2024 ISLAMABAD UNITED:
Islamabad United have included some new players in their franchise this season such as Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim. They have filled all of their Platinum picks even before the PSL 2024 Draft.
Islamabad United have retained their all core players which they used to build their team in every season. The retained players of Islamabad United for the Pakistan Super League 2024 edition are as follows;

Islamabad United have got first picks on three occasions, they will get to choose first in Platinum round 3, but they have all their players filled in the Platinum bracket, followed by Gold and Emerging Category. The only good thing here is that they can retain someone else in place of Zeeshan Zameer and get Zeeshan back in their first pick of Emerging category.
The two time PSL champions, United got Naseem Shah on board for PSL 2024 edition in a succesful trade with Quetta Gladiators and it will be a huge boost for United and fans in PSL 2024.
PSL 2024 LAHORE QALANDERS:
Some of the best T20 bowlers all around the world are set to play for Lahore Qalandars again in the PSL 2024 and the retained players of Lahore Qalandars for the Pakistan Super League 2024 edition are as follows;

There will be no surprises for Lahore in the HBL PSL 2024 draft, especially in Platinum category because they already have their four main players fighting for the Platinum slot where only three can be retained.
PSL 2024 KARACHI KINGS:
Since the last two years, Karachi Kings are still trying to bring together a team which can get them the desired results and again this year, Karachi fans will be hoping that their captain Imad Wasim will deliver with Karachi Kings PSL 2024 team. The retained players of Karachi Kings for the Pakistan Super League 2024 edition are as follows;

Karachi Kings will get second pick in the Platinum category of PSL 2024 draft and also the first pick in the Diamond category and they have retained Shoaib Malik in Gold, which means they can go for someone else at first place in Diamond category of PSL 2024 Draft.
PSL 2024 QUETTA GLADIATORS:
Quetta Gladiators after some bad PSL campaigns had to bring something new to the table in PSL 2024 and for that they have to build a new team from the scratch. The retained players of Quetta Gladiators for the Pakistan Super League 2024 edition are as follows;

As we know, Naseem Shah doesn’t wants to play for Quetta in PSL 2024 and that’s why he was traded to Islamabad United in return of Abrar Ahmed and Wasim Jnr for the Pakistan Super League 2024 season.
Quetta Gladiators will definitely get some advantage as they will have the chance to pick all the players from all the top Platinum category and they have a chance to get something good for their team in the upcoming PSL season.
