PAKISTAN TOUR OF SRILANKA 2023:

Pakistan Cricket Team is scheduled to play a t20-match TEST series as their next assignment, this TEST series against Sri Lanka will be a part of the next World Test Championship Cycle and for that Pakistan Cricket Team will tour Sri Lanka next month and these points will be very crucial to start off the next cycle for the Pakistan Cricket Team.

For the preparation of the Sri Lankan tour, Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a total of around 40 players, except some players who have been granted NOCs for county cricket or some personal commitments all the current lot of the Pakistan team will be present at the training camp – out of those a total of 14 batters will be in action in the two training camps and those batters can also make way for their selection in Pakistan’s TEST team for the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka.

Former Pakistani captain, Rashid Latif uploaded his latest video on his YouTube channel and pointed out three batters that he believes are there to watch out for the future of the Pakistan cricket team, he asks to keep an eye on these three batters for the upcoming Sri Lankan tour.

In his latest discussion, the former cricketer pointed out names of batters which includes Omair Bin Yousaf, Muhammad Huraira, and Saud Shakeel as the future of the Pakistan team in the batting department as many veteran cricketers are now retired or the selection committee has moved on from them.

‘’ If you have dropped Fawad Alam, Azhar Ali has retired, and there is no Assad Shafiq as well so there are chances of young players to be selected for the Pakistan team. We can talk about Omair Bin Yousaf and Muhammad Huraira and then there is Saud Shakeel as well – their time is about to come because these three players I have named are technically strong and have been scoring runs in all-formats in domestic cricket ‘’, he added.

Pakistan Shaheens recently toured Zimbabwe for a TEST and ODI series – the batters that are named by the former captain Rashid Latif performed exceptionally well in the two-match TEST series, recent performances of all three players that are named as future of Pakistan by Rashid Latif are as follows;

  • OMAIR BIN YOUSAF ENDED THE UNOFFICIAL TEST SERIES AGAINST ZIMBABWE AS THE HIGHEST RUNS SCORER OF THE SERIES, HE SCORED AN EXCEPTIONAL KNOCK OF 250 RUNS IN AS WELL AS A TOTAL OF 348 RUNS IN THE WHOLE SERIES AGAINST ZIMBABWE.
  • MUHAMMAD HURAIRA WAS THE SECOND-HIGHEST RUNS SCORER OF THE UNOFFICIAL TEST SERIES AGAINST ZIMBABWE, HE SCORED A TOTAL OF 242 RUNS IN THE SERIES AGAINST ZIMBABWE.
  • SAUD SHAKEEL HAS ALREADY MADE HIS DEBUT FOR THE PAKISTAN TEST TEAM AND HIS PERFORMANCES SPEAK OF HIS TALENT AND TECHNIQUE, HE HAS PLAYED 5 MATCHES FOR PAKISTAN AND HAS SCORED AROUND 600 RUNS AT AN IMPRESSIVE AVERAGE OF 72.5 RUNS PER INNS.

The former Pakistani cricketer, Rashid Latif even though feels that all the players that are picked in the NCZ training camp are proven performers, he said that these three players that he has named are the most technically equipped players in the young generation.

Rashid Latif also believes that Pakistan is superior in comparison to the Sri Lankan team and we have to beat them in both games but that doesn’t mean Sri Lanka is a weak team, even though they lose outside but they will come hard on you in their Home Test Series – these points are very important for the chances of the Pakistan Cricket Team in the next World Test Championship so Pakistan should win comprehensively.

‘’ I think the series against Sri Lanka is very important. We should win every single match in a proper way and gain points ‘’, he further added.
