SARFARAZ AHMED PICKS SHADAB OVER RIZWAN, AND SHAHEEN AS PAKISTAN’S FUTURE ALL-FORMAT CAPTAIN

SARFARAZ AHMED INTERVIEW:

Pakistan’s former captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed in his recent podcast expressed his views about the current vice-captain Shadab Khan, he supported Shadab Khan to be the next captain of the Pakistan team in all formats.

Sarfaraz Ahmed as we all know is one of Pakistan’s most successful T20I as well as ODI captain, he picked Shadab Khan over Muhammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi to lead Pakistan in the future.

It is also very important because Muhammad Rizwan is the vice-captain of the Pakistan team in TEST cricket and Shaheen Shah Afridi has won two consecutive PSL titles in two seasons as captain but still Sarfaraz Ahmed picked Pakistan’s premium all-rounder, Shadab Khan for this important role.

In his latest interview, Sarfaraz Ahmed was asked this question on whom will he choose between Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Muhammad Rizwan to be the next all-format captain of the Pakistan team to which Sarfaraz Ahmed replied, ‘’ Shadab Khan ‘’, and he was very clear about this answer.

The former captain of the Pakistan team also highlighted the importance of Shadab Khan as a player in the team, a utility cricketer in all formats for the Pakistan team and that’s why Sarfaraz Ahmed thinks he can lead Pakistan in all formats after Babar Azam.

The 36-year-old also highlighted the importance and role of Shadab Khan in TEST cricket or in any overseas game, he thinks that Shadab Khan can even lead Pakistan in TEST cricket as well because of his versatility as a player in all formats of the game.

‘’ The batting order at which he plays, he can adjust in any team, or if you play overseas or play TEST cricket, you need to play with five bowlers. Among those five bowlers, your fifth bowler who will be your all-rounder, who can bat and bowl. Whether we talk about ODI cricket or T20 cricket, Shadab Khan can adjust himself in all formats of the game ‘’, he added.

SHADAB KHAN AS CAPTAIN:

Shadab Khan currently leads Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League and has even captained Pakistan in six T20I matches as well so far out of those six matches, Shadab Khan has won two matches and has lost 4 matches as the captain of the Pakistan team.

Shadab Khan recently led Pakistan in the T20I series against Afghanistan, even though he couldn’t make much of a difference as captain and Pakistan lost the series 2-1, but we couldn’t blame him much because it was a young and inexperienced side but still, it was a historical defeat for the Pakistan team.
