Usama Mir Reveals His Favorites Bowler:

Usama Mir, the young leg-spinner who recently appeared on the scene and has also made his debut for Pakistan in ODI cricket is having a dream international career as he has improved significantly in the last 2 years.

The Pakistani leg-spinner was not rated much if we talk about the past but the way he has shown the world his talent with his performances is quite remarkable, even in his debut series the way he bowled and bamboozled Kane Williamson, who is regarded as one of the best in this modern era as his first ODI wicket for Pakistan.

He has recently returned home after he played the Vitality Blast 2023 season and in just 3 matches he made an impact for his team Worcestershire. He was exceptional with the bowl picking up 5 wickets in three matches as well as with the bat where he scored two match-winning knocks in the T20 blast.

Usama Mir in his latest interview talked about his career and the way he has turned his performances around in a span of 1-2 years is just a remarkable improvement and who was his inspiration to improve and perform better as a leg-spinner in his professional career.

‘’ There are speculations that how has Usama been this consistent with his performances, the reason for that is the efforts I have made in red-ball cricket. I used to bowl at one pace but now I can vary my pace and this great control on my bowling is because of red-ball cricket ‘’, he added.

The Pakistani leg-spinner also revealed his inspiration as a leg-spinner in world cricket on whom he named Shane Warne, the legendary Australian and he further revealed how his work ethic is based on what he has learned from his inspiration Shane Warne to just focus and be consistent as a bowler.

‘’ I am a big fan of the legendary spinner, Shane Warne. I have always learned from Shane Warne that when you are excellent as a leg spinner, you can bowl at your desired areas and can be the best bowler in the world. So, this has always been my mindset and that’s why I don’t try different varieties as I just try to remain focused and consistent ‘’, he further added.

The Sialkot-born leg-spinner has been playing domestic cricket for Pakistan for the last 7-8 years, he was not consistent enough to be a part of the Pakistan team but in recent years he has totally changed and is now a regular member of Pakistan’s ODI squad.

PAKISTAN CUP 2022-23:

Usama Mir has been playing domestic cricket for a long time but emerged as a quality spinner in the past 1-2 years and especially his performances in the Pakistan Cup 2022-23 where he was the highest wicket-taker for his team Central Punjab, he picked up 28 wickets in just 11 matches of the season with a brilliant average of around 17 – he also claimed 2 five-wicket hauls and 1 four-wicket haul in his break-through season.

PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE 2023:

His performances in the Pakistan Super League 2023 where he was picked by Multan Sultans and in the recently concluded season he picked up 17 wickets with an excellent average and economy rate. He was a very key member of the team to reach the finals of the tournament and his quality bowling in one of the best leagues around the world was the key to building his high-class reputation in the cricket arena.

ODI CRICKET PERFORMANCE:

The Pakistani leg-spinner has picked up 10 wickets for the Pakistan team in just 6 ODi matches he has played so far and now after his consistent performances, he has a very strong case to be a part of the Pakistan World Cup squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 as well.
