HASSAN ALI AND SHAHEEN AFRIDI WITH IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCES IN VITALITY BLAST

IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCES IN VITALITY BLAST:

Pakistani pacers are in red-hot form in Vitality Blast 2023, Hassan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi both delivered some impressive performances for their respective teams.

Hassan Ali’s return to form is quite good as he bowled an impressive bowling spell last night for Birmingham Bears in the ongoing T20 Blast 2023 season.

Pakistan’s right-arm pacer, Hassan Ali started his exceptional bowling spell when he crashed into the stumps of Clarke and his partner Chris Woakes dismissed the other opener, Durham’s start was halted by these two strikes in the powerplay which helped Bears to restrict Durham batters at a very small total in power-play.

Hassan Ali bowled some brilliant lines and lengths with the new ball, he bowled three overs with the new ball and conceded just seven runs and played the most important to control the Durham batters from not scoring big at the start.

In the end, Hassan Ali gave away just 14 runs and also picked up two wickets of the opposition batters, Graham Clark and Ollie Robinson were the wickets that Hassan Ali claimed last night which helped his team to restrict the opposition on a low score, he ended up with figures of 2/14 in his quota of four overs.

The Pakistani pacer couldn’t do much in the chase as he was dismissed for a golden duck but still because of his brilliance with the ball, the total was not a big one to chase down, that’s why even in a thrilling encounter, eventually Warwickshire won the match in the last over with 3 balls to spare.

There was another match of Nottinghamshire last night and Shaheen Shah Afridi also impressed everyone with his brilliant bowling spell. He bowled one of his best spells in the ongoing Vitality Blast 2023 season last night against Leicestershire.

In the match, Nottinghamshire batted first and scored 165 runs with the loss of 8 wickets, Joe Clarke was the highest runs scorer for Nottinghamshire as he scored a brilliant 72 runs off just 41 balls in a low-scoring game and these runs proved to be very crucial because batting wasn’t easy on that wicket and you had to earn your runs.

In the run chase, Leicestershire has a good opening partnership and things were going pretty nicely for them till the halfway mark, and in a T20 game, once you lost track, it is very difficult to come back, even though the target was not that much still Shaheen Shah Afridi was too hot to handle last night by Leicestershire batters.

In the final over, the Leicestershire team required 29 runs with Wiaan Mulder – their highest run scorer was also on the crease, but Shaheen Shah Afridi stepped up in the last over and picked up two wickets in the span of just four balls and held his nerves to help his team win the match by 21 runs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi even though isn’t at his bat at the back end of the innings but still, he held his nerves and just conceded one boundary in the 20TH over, picked up two wickets of Wiaan Mulder and Michael Finan, and sealed the victory for Nottinghamshire.

The left-arm pacer of Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi with two more wickets in the match last night now has picked up 16 wickets in the Vitality Blast 2023 in just 11 matches, he has played for Nottinghamshire this season. He has claimed these wickets at an average of 23.6 and at an economy rate of 8.7 runs. He is the joint-fifth highest wicket taker of the tournament after the match last night against Leicestershire.
