World Cup 2023: Rashid Latif Raised Questions On The Lights Of Dharamsala Stadium

Rashid Latif Raised Questions On Lights Of Dharamsala Stadium:

The match between South Africa and Netherlands in the World Cup 2023 was played at the Dharamsala Stadium, India.’

Netherlands handed South Africa their first defeat of the tournament as the SA’s batting crumbled under lights against the Netherlands while chasing 246 runs.

The former captain of Pakistan, Rashid Latif on his YouTube channel raised questions on the floodlights of the Dharamsala Stadium where the match between NED and SA was played.

On his YouTube channel, Rashid Latif names the flood lights of Dharamsala as a reason that the players of SA were getting late on the ball while chasing the target.

‘’ Players seemed to be getting late on the ball. Because I have gone through these times, and that’s why the reason could be the lights but the player didn’t know about this reason ‘’, Rashid Latif added.

The 55-year-old raised questions on the Dharamsala Stadium while saying that the lights in the stadium are not of international standard as there were some dark spots in the stadium which makes it difficult for the players to play under the lights.

‘’ When you see the lights of the Stadium, it might look acceptable but there were dark spots in the stadium. The lights in the Dharamsala Stadium were not of international standard and the player could not see the ball properly ‘’, he further added.

Rashid Latif says that the lights in the stadium were just good for the telecasting and not for the match. Along with that, he named Ahmedabad Stadium which has the better light system.

‘’ Sometimes we say, the lights aren’t good enough for the telecasting. But in this match, this light is just for the telecast and not for the match. The lights in the Ahmedabad Stadium are the ideal ones ‘’, Rashid Latif concluded.
