CRICKET ASIA CUP 2023 – TEAMS, GROUPS AND CAPTAINS
ASIA CUP 2023:
The 16TH edition of the Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan as they won the hosting rights of this tournament, this edition of Asia Cup 2023 will be played JUNE, 2023 as per the expected dates, no official dates are confirmed in this regard as per now.
ASIA CUP 2023 TEAMS:
Asia Cup 2023 is a tournament in which 6 teams will participate against each other, all top ASIAN TEAMS will compete against each other to win the trophy, here are all the qualification details about the six teams that will be taking part in the Asia Cup 2023 later this year;

ASIA CUP 2023 GROUPS:
The groups and the format of the Asia Cup 2023 are announced, and as per the announced groups, there will be six teams that will participate in the Asia Cup 2023, and teams in different groups are as follows;

ASIA CUP 2023 CAPTAINS:
There are six teams from Asia that will participate in the ASIA CUP 2023, those sis teams will be lead by six different captains, the details about all those captains of all the available teams are given below;
1. ROHIT SHARMA:
Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian National Cricket Team is one of the greatest ODI players in the history of the game. Rohit Sharma has been India’s most successful ODI captain with a win percentage of 73%, Rohit Sharma as captain of the Indian Cricket Team has won 19 matches out of 26 matches in which he has captained his team in ODI cricket.
Indian captain and opener batter, Rohit Sharma also known as the ‘’ HITMAN ‘’ has scored around 10,000 runs in ODI cricket as well, he is one of the greatest openers in the history of the game – the player with the most number of double-centuries in the history of the game.
2. BABAR AZAM:
Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan ODI team was announced in 2020, he was the successor of the previous Champions Trophy winner captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed. Babar Azam as we all know is one of the finest players in the world right now, it was questioned whether he is in the FAB 4 or not but now he is even named ‘’ THE BIG ONE ‘’.
Babar Azam as Pakistan’s ODI captain has scored the most number of centuries ever in the history of Pakistan cricket. Since the last 2019 ODI World Cup, Babar Azam averages 75+ in ODI cricket for his team, and no player has scored more runs in international cricket than Babar Azam in this time period, which speaks of his talent and volume.
3. DASUN SHANAKA:
Dasun Shanaka, the limited overs skipper of the Sri Lankan national cricket team will lead his team in the 2023 Asia Cup as well. He is a right-handed batsman as well as a bowler who can do well in both aspects of the game and is a brilliant fielder as well.
Dasun Shanaka made his ODI debut for his country in 2016, since then he has played fifties ODI matches for his team and has scored more than 1000 runs for his country as well as some crucial wickets for his team. He was appointed as the captain of the Sri Lankan team in 2019, he is a very experienced captain and is also the winner of the 2022 ASIA CUP as well.
4. TAMIM IQBAL:
Tamim Iqbal, the captain of the Bangladesh cricket team for the 2023 Asia Cup, is regarded as one of the greatest players ever from Bangladesh. He is a widely experienced player and has scored more than 8,000 runs for his country in ODI cricket at a healthy average as well.
Tamim Iqbal is one of the most classic left-handers in international cricket at the moment, he was also announced as the captain of the team in 2019 and since then he had a good record as their ODI captain.
5. HASHMATULLAH SHAHIDI:
Hashmatullah Shahidi, the cricketer from Afghanistan who is currently the captain of the ODI cricket team for Afghanistan. He is a very experienced player as he made his ODI debut around 10 years ago in 2013, he has not played many matches for his country but has a good ODI record for his country. He has a good domestic record and fans will be hoping that he can translate those performances into international cricket as well.
6. TBA (QUALIFIER TEAM):
The captain of the team which has qualified for the 2023 Asia Cup season after winning the ACC Premier Cup 2023, the last team for the Asia Cup 2023 is not finalized yet but we will see this team announcement soon when all the details will be finalized.
