Afghanistan Beats Pakistan To Storm Into The Finals Of The Asian Games:

The teams of Pakistan and Afghanistan featured in the second semi-final of the 2023 Asian Games.

With the slightest of margins, Afghanistan wins the match against Pakistan to storm into the Final of the Asian Games 2023 by 4 wickets.

In a low-scoring thriller, Afghanistan chased down the target of 116 runs in 17.5 overs as Afghanistan has now qualified for the final of the Asian Games 2023.

FIRST INNINGS:

Pakistan batted first and scored a mid-total as Pakistan was bundled out for just 115 runs in the semi-final. Omair Bin Yousaf ended as the highest runs scorer for Pakistan as he scored 24 runs on just 19 deliveries.

The rest of the Pakistani batters including Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir, Khushdil Shah, Muhammad Asif, etc. could not create any difference in the middle order.

Fareed Ahmed picked up three wickets in three overs, followed by Qais Ahmed and Zahir Khan who picked up two wickets each in the first innings.

SECOND INNINGS:

In the run chase, Pakistan struck thrice in the powerplay as they had Afghanistan 35-3 in the powerplay but a good partnership between Zadran and Zazai helped Afghanistan to get back on track.

The right-handed batsman, Gulbadin Naib at the back end showed his power hitting skills against Aamer Jamal when he smashed him for 23 runs to win the match for his team.

Arafat Minhas and Usman Qadir got two wickets in the second innings with one each for Akram and Muqeem who bowled brilliantly in the match.

Eventually, Afghanistan held their nerves as they chased down the target of 116 runs by 4 wickets and will now face India in the final of the Asian Games 2023.
