Babar Azam Aims To Win The Asia Cup And World Cup:

The captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam in a press conference ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 opener against Nepal says that his aim is to win the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

‘’ When I got the responsibility of captaincy, my aim was to change the mindset of the team and I have been successful in doing that ‘’, he further added.

‘’ This team has put in a lot of hard work and effort over the last few years and achieving the top spot is proof of that. We want to win the Asia Cup and the World Cup. We have some exciting new few months lined up and we are eager to do well for our country ‘’, he concluded.

Pakistan is now ranked the #1 in the ICC ODI Rankings, and along with that the captain, Babar Azam is also the #1 ranked ODI batsman in the ICC Rankings.

Some of the other Pakistani players, such as Muhammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Imam Ul Haq, and Fakhar Zaman are now also in the top rankings across all formats.

The top-ranked ODI team in the world, Pakistan is scheduled to play against Nepal in their first match of the Asia Cup 2023, because they are placed in GROUP A, along with India and Nepal.

ASIA CUP 2023 OPENER AGAINST NEPAL:

The 2023 Asia Cup tournament to start on 30 AUGUST, 2023 with the match between Pakistan and Nepal at Multan Cricket Stadium.

‘’ We will try to continue the momentum. In cricket, you can’t take any match easily. We have discussed and worked on their strength and weaknesses ‘’, Babar Azam added.

‘’ We are very excited for the Asia Cup, We had a good series against Afghanistan, and there were some good performances from different players. This is what we want, that every player to performs in the team ‘’, he further added.

‘’ We are focused on tomorrow’s game against Nepal. They have some good players so we are not taking some lightly and we will try to play our best cricket ‘’, Babar Azam concluded.

The second group stage match of Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled against arch-rivals India on 2 SEPTEMBER, 2023, and the match will be played in Sri Lanka.
