Babar Azam Heaps Praise On His Teammates:

The captain of the Pakistan team in his victory speech after the series win against Srilanka praised his teammates as they played brilliantly throughout the series.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan encouraged his teammates with a morale-boosting speech in the dressing room at the end of the series in which he praised his players such as Nauman Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed, etc.

The captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam congratulated the whole team on the series win against Srilanka and the captain of Pakistan also thanked his benched players for their support towards the team.

Babar Azam also emphasized the importance of supporting each other as this is a team game and teams win and lose together not because of some individual’s performance. He said that we have to keep in mind that we are the best and we will continue to show that in the future as well.

‘’ Congratulations. I think winning the test series in Srilanka is very difficult. We won this series as a team, not because of any individual performance ‘’, Babar Azam added.

‘’ We should never depend on one person. We all are the best and we will show it, as we have shown that already ‘’, he further added.

Babar Azam specially mentioned the former Pakistani captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed as he retired hurt in the second test match and couldn’t continue the match because of some health issues.

The captain of the Pakistan team praised the determination of Sarfaraz Ahmed, who retired hurt in the second test match and then was replaced by Muhammad Rizwan for the rest of the test match. He said that even though you were willing to play despite the injury but our first priority is your health.

‘’ Even though you wanted to play but our plan was to keep your health as the first priority. The way you showed that you are willing to play for Pakistan again despite being hit on the head is your best thing ‘’, he further added.

Babar Azam praised his left-arm spinner, Nauman Ali who was going through a rough patch but eventually, he stepped up in the second test match and picked up a seven-fer to help his team clinch the test series 2-0 against Srilanka.

‘’ Nomi Bhai, well bowled. The way you bowled and the way you showed your experience, this was needed today and you delivered ‘’, Babar Azam added.

Nauman Ali finished with figures of 7/80 in the 26 overs he bowled in the second test match. He picked up the wickets of all seven batters in the Srilankan top order and there was a time when he was going after the record of 10 wickets in an innings by Jim Lacker, Anil Kumble, and Ajaz Patel.

Babar Azam also mentioned the bowling efforts by Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi in both test matches, the way both pacers bowled in every phase of the game was quite impressive.

  • Naseem Shah who ended as the second-highest wicket-taker of the series with 9 wickets in just 2 test matches for Pakistan, he picked up a 3-fer and helped Pakistan clinch the series in a commanding fashion.
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi who returned to TEST cricket from an injury after a year, claimed his 100 test wickets for Pakistan in this series and played a very crucial role in the 2-0 win against Srilanka in Srilanka.

Pakistan won the first test match by 4 wickets and in the second test match, Pakistan won the match against Sri Lanka by an inning and 222 runs and this is the largest victory by a margin (runs).

Pakistan is now scheduled to play a three-match test series against Australia at the end of this year. The test series will be played in Australia in DECEMBER – JANUARY. The dates of this series are from DEC 14, 2023 – JAN 7, 2024.
