Rohit Sharma’s Brilliant Innings Leads India To Victory Against Pakistan By 8 Wickets:
A brutal collapse by Pakistan’s batting unit as they slipped from 155-2 to 191 all out against India, followed by the magnificent knock by Indian captain, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer as India thrashed Pakistan by 7 wickets.
The captain of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first against Pakistan in the high-voltage World Cup 2023 clash.
FIRST INNINGS:
Imam and Abdullah gave Pakistan a good start at the top before Abdullah was trapped LBW by Muhammad Siraj in the powerplay.
The Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam along with Muhammad Rizwan scored the crucial runs for Pakistan. Muhammad Rizwan missed out on a fifty but Babar Azam scored his first fifty against India in World Cups.
Apart from that, there is nothing to talk about as the Pakistani middle order was ripped apart by Indian bowlers after Babar’s dismissal and Pakistan lost all remaining 7 wickets in less than 50 runs.
All the Indian bowlers including Bumrah, Siraj, Pandya, Kuldeep, and Jadeja picked up two wickets each in the first innings against Pakistan.
SECOND INNINGS:
In the run chase, Shaheen Shah Afridi got Shubman Gill early in the innings, followed by the wicket of Virat Kohli who was dismissed by Hassan Ali after scoring 16 runs in 18 deliveries.
It was all Rohit Sharma’s madness after these wickets as the Indian skipper scored 86 runs on just 63 deliveries smashing six fours and six sixes against Pakistani bowlers.
Shreyas Iyer also scored a well compiled fifty and some crucial runs by KL Rahul helped them see India home in just 30.3 overs of the run chase.
Furthermore, Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up two wickets and one prized wicket was picked by Hassan Ali as Pakistan lost the match by 7 wickets against India.
