MATHEW HAYDEN ABOUT MODERN-DAY GREAT CRICKETERS:

Mathew Hayden, the legendary Australian batsman names three of the top international batters as once in generational cricketers.

The former Australian cricketer, Mathew Hayden who was also appointed as the coach for Pakistan in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is now a commentator and is currently commentating on the final of the World Test Championship between Australia and India, shared his views and judgments on the strength of both teams.

The former cricketer who is now a commentator for the game also recognizes the quality of these three batters and names them as exceptional talents in world cricket. He labels them as ‘’ once in a lifetime and once in a generational cricketers ‘’, and says that three batters are of that quality which the performances and achievements speak of their volume.

Mathew Hayden also praised Marnus Labuschange, the current #1 Test Batsman in the world, and highlighted his importance in Australia’s Test Team and especially his partnership with Steven Smith, which Hayden thinks is a modern-day great will be very crucial for Australia.

‘’ In a big game, it is about runs on the board. Steve Smith is a maestro. When you think about the modern-day greats, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, and Babar Azam – these are once in a lifetime and once in a generation cricketers. So, obviously in combination with Marnus Labuschange, these two (Smith & Marnus) are very crucial for the Australian batting line-up and then Pat Cummins as a bowler and as a captain as well ‘’, Hayden added.

All three batters mentioned by Mathew Hayden are one of the best of this generation, Babar Azam even though is not on the list of legends but is definitely a talent to watch out for because of his achievements in international cricket with such a short career as compared to the other two batters but Steven Smith, and Virat Kohli as we all know are modern-day legends of the game.

Steve Smith, the former Australian captain is not as pleasant to the eyes as the other top batters in the game of cricket because of his stance which is a bit different from others but he knows how to score runs and is regarded as a modern-day legend of the game who has been scoring runs consistently for the Australian team since his debut and that’s why is regarded as a batting maestro.

VIRAT KOHLI:

Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain is definitely one of the finest ever to play the game as he has been scoring runs and centuries that too at a brisk rate for his team and he has been doing this for more than a decade. Virat Kohli who has scored more than 25000 international runs is regarded as one of the best ever to play the game.

Babar Azam, the current Pakistani captain in all formats is also one of the best in the world right now. He has been in the top ICC rankings in all three formats which speaks about his talent and in his short international career he has achieved the Number 1 rank in both ODIs as well as T20I cricket for his country. His impressive stats and record all over the world are evidence of his quality and the talent that he possesses. By far, he has been the most elegant batsman in international cricket since his debut.
