Pakistan’s left-arm pacer, Muhammad Amir names three batters and three bowlers from international cricket that are his favorite in the world right now.

Former Pakistani cricketer, Muhammad Amir on his YouTube channel revealed his top three favorite batters and bowlers in a response to a Q&A session on his channel.

Out of three batters that Muhammad Amir picked as his favorite in the current era, two of them are from the arch-rivals, the Indian cricket team and one batter was from the Pakistan cricket team.

Muhammad Amir named Virat Kohli as the best batsman in this current era and is also the #1 on his list in all formats, the Pakistani pacer has also mentioned many times that Virat Kohli is his favorite batsman in the current era.

The other two picks of Muhammad Amir were the captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam. Muhammad Amir thinks that Babar Azam is his favorite batsman in the world apart from T20s and the last one on the list was the young emerging sensation of the Indian cricket team, Shubman Gill, which Muhammad Amir thinks is the upcoming superstar in international cricket for India.

‘’ Virat Kohli, Babar Azam is my favorite batsman apart from T20s. He is my favorite in Tests and ODIs. In the end, Shubman Gill, I feel he will be the next big thing for India in the future and for that, he has to continue his current form ‘’, he added.

Virat Kohli and Babar Azam as we all know are one of the top batters in world cricket right now with Babar Azam being the only batsman in the world to be ranked in the top 5 ICC rankings in all three formats. Shubman Gill as mentioned by Muhammad Amir is relatively young and will take time and dedication to reach the level of the other two batting maestros.

The former Pakistani cricketer, Muhammad Amir also picked his top three bowlers that are his favorite – he picked one bowler each from Australia, New Zealand, and Pakistan. Muhammad Amir ranked Trent Boult as the #1 bowler in the world right now as his favorite and the other two picks of Muhammad Amir are Naseem Shah from Pakistan and Mitchell Starc, who plays international cricket for Australian Cricket Team. It can be a coincidence but Muhammad Amir being a left-arm pacer picked two of the three pacers who are also left-arm pacers.

‘’ Trent Boult is my number one pick, and then Naseem Shah. I feel these are complete bowlers and can play all three formats, the last one on my list is Mitchell Starc ‘’, he concluded.

The Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah is relatively young in International cricket and has picked up around 100 wickets in international cricket for Pakistan as compared to Trent Boult who has picked up around 600 wickets for New Zealand and Mitchell Starc who has also claimed more than 600 wickets for Australia.

The former Pakistani pacer further supported Pakistan in the upcoming ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 as he believes that Pakistan Cricket Team will definitely finish among the top four teams of the World Cup 2023 in India. He believes that Pakistan being an Asian team will do well in India because of similar conditions and no one should underestimate Pakistan.

‘’ Pakistan will be in the top four of the World Cup team, and you can’t write them off in Asian conditions ‘’, he said.

In 2011, the last time, Pakistan played the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup in India and Pakistan also finished in the top four of the World Cup teams, Pakistan played the semi-final against arch-rivals India and Pakistan lost the match. Men in Green will love to turn the tables around this time in their own backyard.
