PAK Vs AFG 3RD ODI: Pakistan Completes A Clean Sweep And Claims The NO. 1 Spot In The ICC Rankings

PAK Vs AFG 3RD ODI:

Pakistan team defended 269 runs won the third match of the series comfortably by 59 runs against Afghanistan.

Pakistan has also completed a clean sweep against Afghanistan in the ODI series and is now the #1 ranked ODI team in the world in ICC Rankings.

The captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first in the third ODI against Afghanistan.

FIRST INNINGS:

Fakhar and Imam opened the innings for Pakistan but no one could score big as both were dismissed for 27 runs and 13 runs respectively.

Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan both scored half-centuries in the match and completed a much-needed partnership in the middle overs.

Babar Azam scored 60 runs off 86 deliveries (four fours, and one six), and Muhammad Rizwan scored 67 runs off 79 deliveries (six fours, and one six).

Saud Shakeel and Shadab Khan couldn’t score today but Agha Salman and Muhammad Nawaz provided that much-needed flourish at the end to help Pakistan reach a comfortable total.

Fareed and Gulbadin picked two wickets, while Farooqi, Rashid, and Mujeeb were able to pick one wicket each in the first innings to restrict Pakistan to 268 runs.

SECOND INNINGS:

The centurion of the previous match, Gurbaz couldn’t create much of a difference as he was dismissed early, followed by Ibrahim Zadran, and both wickets were taken by Faheem Ashraf.

Salman Agha provided another breakthrough, followed by Shadab Khan, who struck twice in an over and Afghanistan was 5 down for just 62 runs while chasing 269 runs.

Mujeeb Ur Rehman showed some resistance as he scored the fastest fifty in ODI cricket for Afghanistan, he scored 64 runs off just 37 deliveries but that wasn’t enough to win the match.

Shadab Khan picked up a 3-fer, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah, and Faheem Ashraf with two wickets in the match. Salman Agha ended with a wicket in the third ODI against Afghanistan.

3-0 series win as Pakistan completed a clean sweep over Afghanistan in an away series win and is now the officially ranked #1 ODI side in international cricket.
