BABAR AZAM:

The biggest name of Pakistan cricket who previously was with Karachi Kings and helped them to lift the title as well has now joined Peshawar Zalmi as their opening batter and captain as well for this year’s PSL, Babar Azam is also the highest run scorer in Pakistan Super League and has amassed around 2500 runs in this competition in 68 matches he has played so far will now be available for Zalmi and co to help them in the hunt for another PSL Trophy.

WAHAB RIAZ:

Veteran Pakistani cricketer, left-arm arm pacer wahab riaz is the only bowler with more than 100 wickets to his name in PSL history – zalmi’s former captain is also in the plans for PSL 8 and why not so he is the highest wicket-taker of this tournament and we all know how many matches ZALMI has won on the back of wahab riaz and his brilliant performances. Even at the age of 37 he is still bowling with full throttle and will be eying some more wickets to his name in this PSL.

MOHAMMAD HARIS:

Another stylish and hard hitter opening batsman of Pakistan Haris who emerged as Pakistan’s hero in this world cup campaign as he showed glimpses of his talent in the world cup matches vs South Africa and Bangladesh, he is also named as one for the future of PAKISTAN t20 team but first of all, he will play for PZ in this season and will be the partner of Babar Azam at the top.

TOM KOHLER CADMORE:

He is an English cricketer and is a right-handed batsman – played the previous season with Zalmi but is yet to mark his name in international cricket still a very seasoned t20 batter who is also named as TKC and will play for Zalmi this season, catching the eyes of most of the cricket world with his brisk batting and for that to prove he has recently scored a century in ILT20, he averages 30+ and strikes around 140 with the bat in his t20 career which shows us his potential.

BHANUKA RAJAPAKSA:

He was the player of the tournament for the recently concluded ASIA CUP 2022 and was also the player of the match in the final vs Pakistan for his brisk fifty even under immense pressure and that’s why he is a top name in world cricket when it comes to the middle-order batsman, Zalmi will be hoping that he will deliver the same performances for their team like he used to do for his country.

SHERFANE RUTHERFORD:

He is a Guyanese cricketer, a left-handed batter who plays for windies in international cricket and is known for his power-hitting skills lower down the order, not a very big name in world cricket but has done it many times for Zalmi and they will be hoping that he will again step up when it comes to finishing the matches for his team in PSL.

SAIM AYUB:

He is a left-handed top order batsman previously played for Quetta Gladiators but was flopped in that season, but never looked back since that time and has developed himself after the last PSL – was the best batsman in Pakistan’s domestic tournaments where he impressed everyone with his elegant stroke play and forced Zalmi to use their WILDCARD on him to pick him for this season.

JIMMY NEESHAM:

James Neesham, we all know for him for his twitter chit chat but he was almost the hero for NZ in the CWC19 and is also a seasoned t20 batting all-rounder who played for various t20 teams around the globe, Zalmi picked him in PLATINUM category because he is a very handy batter and a good medium pace bowling option for the captain in a t20 game.

HASEEBULLAH KHAN:

He was in the last U-19 batch of Pakistan, a left handed wicket-keeper batsman who played for Balochistan in domestic cricket and because of his impressive performances he was a top name to be picked in PSL and after all the hard work he will start his PSL career with Zalmi and without a doubt he is another player who can be future of Pakistan cricket.

ROVMAN POWELL:

Jamaican cricketer POWELL plays for the West Indies cricket team and is the current vice-captain in limited overs cricket, a very top notch power hitter who has won many matches on his own in t20 cricket and his strike rate in t20s in 150 which shows us how brutal he can be in the death overs, previously played for SULTANS but in this season we will see him in yellow jersey.

DANISH AZIZ:

Danish Aziz is a Pakistani cricketer who made his international debut as an all-rounder for the Pakistan Cricket Team but was dropped soon – left handed batter and a slow left arm bowler can be handy in t20s and that’s why after that he was picked by ISLU and now Zalmi has shown faith in him.

ARSHAD IQBAL:

From the land of pace bowling another one in this list is Arshad Iqbal who impressed everyone in last season of PSL with his consistent line and length and was economical as well, this was the reason he had also made his t20i debut for Pakistan.

MUJEEB UR REHMAN:

Mujeeb belongs to the ‘mystery’ spinner species. He previously has also played for Zalmi and is one of top spinner in the world specially in power play and then middle overs. His strength is his nagging accuracy, discipline and of course the judicious use of carom ball in between to pick wickets off and win matches for his team.

USMAN QADIR:

Son of Pakistan’s best-known spinner “ Abdul Qadir ” – Usman has an action not too different from his father, has many bowling varieties but can be a bit expensive at times still a genuine wicket taker for Pakistan team and has picked 29 wickets in 23 matches for his country.

AAMIR JAMAL:

Born in Mianwali but brought up in Rawalpindi, Jamal played most of his cricket in and around Islamabad and after the grassroots level he was named in Northern’s squad for the 2020–21 Pakistan Cup where he impressed everyone and was straight into Pakistan Team where he made his International T20i Debut against England in home t20 series last year where he delivered match winning performance with the ball at the death and showed his potential.

SALMAN IRSHAD:

Salman Irshad, is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for Northern Cricket Team and Peshawar Zalmi in last season where he showed his talent, had good control over his pace and gave some good performances for Zalmi, he is another one from the pace factory of Pakistan who can bowl 145+ regularly as well.

SUFIYAN MUQEEM:

Another youngster is Zalmi’s squad named as Sufiyan Muqeem, a young talented cricketer from Kashmir was picked by Peshawar Zalmi who has not played in any of the main domestic team but according to some research on Sufiyan – he is a left handed legspinner who has good control over his bowling and this type of bowlers are not much across the globe.

HARIS SOHAIL:

He is always in and out of the scene, once again he was back in ODi squad of Pakistan vs NZ series and made his presence count with some good knocks and after that now he is picked by PSL franchise Zalmi for this year’s PSL season.

KHURRAM SHAHZAD:

The last one from the list is khurram shahzad who is a right arm pace bowler previously played for Quetta Gladiators and was good with his control, played well in domestic and gets his reward as he is picked for PSL again.
