PSL 9 2024 – New Teams In PSL 2024
PSL 9 2024 TEAMS:
Pakistan Super League is the biggest cricketing event for Pakistan cricket, there is nothing that comes close to this festival in Pakistan as it is celebrated by almost everyone whether he is a cricket fan or not but still he enjoys PSL with all his family and that’s the reason of the success of PSL til now, after every PSL ends, the most important thing about this tournament is that fans start to wait for the next season of PSL.
After the completion of the PSL 8 successfully, although there are reports that new teams added in the Pakistan Super League but at the moment officially there will be six teams that will participate in the next 2024 season of PSL 9, those six teams for PSL 9, 2024 are from the six different cities of Pakistan to represent the people for their area and those 6 teams of PSL are as follows;
- LAHORE QALANDARS
- ISLAMABAD UNITED
- PESHAWAR ZALMI
- MULTAN SULTANS
- QUETTA GLADIATORS
- KARACHI KINGS
The details about all these teams in the PSL 9 season till now will be as follow;
LAHORE QALANDARS:
The most successful franchise in the PSL 9 is Lahore Qalandars, they were the defending champions of the PSL 2022 and they defended their title in 2023 as well, they are the only PSL team who have won the PSL title two consecutive times, they have also played the finals of PSL three times in which they came victorious twice.

ISLAMABAD UNITED:
Islamabad United is another PSL team that has won two titles of PSL, they were the top PSL team when the tournament was started but now seem to be struggling a bit because they have failed to qualify for the last round of the tournament for two consecutive times, heading into the PSL 9, 2024 season they will be looking to turn their fortunes around.

PESHAWAR ZALMI:
Like all other PSL franchises with at least one title of the Pakistan Super League, Peshawar Zalmi has also one to their name as well, this is the team that has played 4 finals out of 8 seasons – the most number of finals in the Pakistan Super League history and they will be hoping they can do it one more time in PSL 9, 2024 season where they can win another title as they did in 2017 PSL season.

MULTAN SULTANS:
The franchise which was added a bit later than others in this competition but they have also enjoyed great success in this tournament so far, failed to cross the final line but still, they have played the last 3 consecutive finals of the Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans will try their best in PSL 9, 2024 season that they can win another title this year.

QUETTA GLADIATORS:
Quetta Gladiators will try to start their PSL 9 season with some fire as they have seen struggling big time post-2019, after PSL was shifted back to Pakistan they couldn’t create much of an impact, they do have lifted a PSL title in 2019 but after that, it’s just humiliation every season as they finished on the rock bottom in last few PSL seasons, let’s see PSL 2024 could create some difference in their performance or not.

KARACHI KINGS:
Karachi Kings have also won a PSL title on the back of Babar Azam in the 2020 PSL season, they have just played one final and won that it’s a 100% success rate but they would like to continue this rate in the PSL 9 season as well where they can enter the finals and lift the trophy again for their passionate fans, they will be looking towards PSL 2024 season so they can start with a new as they failed to qualify for the playoffs in last 2 consecutive seasons of the Pakistan Super League.

NEW TEAMS IN PSL 2024:
- ALTHOUGH THERE ARE NEWS THAT NEW PSL TEAMS WILL BE ADDED TO THE PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE SEASON 2024, PCB CHAIRMAN NAJAM SETHI HAS ALSO SPOKEN TO THE MEDIA IN THIS MATTER THAT HE WANTS TO ADD ONE OR TWO MORE TEAMS IN THE PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE 9, SEASON 2024.
- NAJAM SETHI ADDED, ‘’ we will try to sit with our current team owners and will convince them in this regard that we have to add more teams in to the PSL competition heading toward the future ‘’ HE FURTHER ADDED THAT HE DOESN’T WANTS ANY FRANCHISE TO BEAR ANY LOSS BECAUSE OF ANY NEW TEAM AND THAT’S WHY HE WANTS TO DECIDE ON THIS MATTER WITH APPROVAL FROM ALL FRANCHISES AND ALL RELEVANT AUTHORITIES.
- EVEN THOUGH ANY NEW TEAM WILL HAVE TO START FROM THE SCRATCH IN THE PAL 9, 2024 SEASON EVEN IF THIS NEEDS ENDS UP AS TRUE BUT STILL IT WILL BE A HUGE BOOST FOR THE PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE AS WELL AS THE PAKISTAN CRICKET BOARD IF THEY CAN MANAGE TO DO SO IN THE UPCOMING PSL 2024 SEASON OR AFTER THAT BECAUSE THERE ARE ALSO REPORTS THAT NEW TEAM WILL BE ADDED AFTER THE PSL 10TH EDITION COMPLETION.
