SHAHEEN AFRIDI PICKED UP FOUR WICKETS IN ONE OVER AND CREATES HISTORY IN VITALITY BLAST

SHAHEEN AFRIDI MADE WORLD RECORD:

Pakistan’s left-arm pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi who has been in great form in the Vitality Blast 2023, once again delivers an extraordinary performance as he made history by picking up four wickets in the first over of the game.

In a match between the Nottinghamshire team and the Warwickshire team, three Pakistani players were involved in the match for both teams – the left-arm pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi was playing for the Nottinghamshire team along with the left-arm spinner, Imad Wasim.

The right-arm Pakistani pacer, Hassan Ali was also playing the match for the Warwickshire team in this match against Shaheen Shah and Imad Wasim.

He made a record as he becomes the first bowler in the history of Vitality Blast to pick four wickets in the first over of the match, and as a result, while defending a low total, he dismantled the top-order of the Warwickshire team in just one over.

  • The premium Pakistani pacer made a sloppy start as he gave away five wide runs from his first delivery, but he returned and cleaned up the opener, Alex Davies was adjusted LBW with a brilliant Yorker by Shaheen Shah Afridi.
  • The wicket was followed by another excellent delivery and Shaheen Afridi claimed his second wicket of Chris Benjamin, he missed his hat-trick there but in the last two balls of his first over, he picked up two more wickets, Shaheen dismissed Dan Mousley, and Ed Barnard on last two balls of his first over.

Shaheen Shah Afridi in his first over gave away just seven runs and claimed four wickets of the opposition batters during the powerplay, he got wickets of three top-order batters that too on a golden duck.

In the second over of the match, Shaheen Afridi returned but was a bit off the length, maybe he was trying too hard for the wicket but in this process, even though he didn’t concede any boundary, he bowled some wide balls and gave away a total of 10 runs in his second over of the match.

In his third over, Shaheen Shah returned in the middle overs and bowled another good over as he just gave away 4 runs. In his final over, he bowled the penultimate over of the match and gave away 8 runs as Warwickshire won the match by two wickets.

In the end, Shaheen Shah Afridi returned with figures of 4/29 in his quota of four overs, he ended up on the losing side but again showed everyone his talent and potential, especially with the new ball as the 2023 Cricket World Cup is approaching, it will be fun to see Shaheen Afridi bowling at full throttle in India.

The Pakistani spinner gave away 16 runs in his first over, he bowled the next three overs in death. He couldn’t claim any wickets and ended up with figures of 0/32 in his 3.1 overs, with Warwickshire chasing the total on the first ball of the 20TH over.

HASSAN ALI’S PERFORMANCE:

The right-arm Pakistani pacer, Hassan Ali ended up on the winning side, he bowled brilliantly as he picked up three wickets in the match and gave away just 25 runs, played a crucial role in victory but his spell was outshined by Shaheen Shah Afridi’s magic against the Warwickshire team.
