World Cup 2023: Kamran Akmal Names Two Players To Replace Fakhar As Opener In CWC23

ICC World Cup 2023:

Pakistan is scheduled to play its second match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the Hyderabad Stadium.

In his recent analysis, Kamran Akmal named two Pakistani players who he thinks should replace Fakhar Zaman in the playing XI as the opener of the Pakistan team.

The first match of the World Cup 2023 was won comfortably by Pakistan against the Netherlands with a huge margin of 81 runs.

Kamran Akmal Names Two Players To Replace Fakhar As Opener In CWC23:

While talking to a local TV channel, Kamran Akmal says that Pakistan will choose the team because they won against the Netherlands rather than the conditions for the next match.

‘’ Pakistan basically picks teams based on their winning streak rather than on the basis of pitch and conditions. So, I think they will go with the same team (against Sri Lanka) ‘’, Kamran Akmal added.

The former Pakistani cricketer, Kamran Akmal also pointed out the bad performance of Fakhar Zaman who is failing big time to score runs in ODI cricket and Kamran Akmal wants to replace him with someone as an opener in the next game.

‘’ There should be no doubt that Fakhar is in bad form and he has no confidence as well. In this case, I think Rizwan should open for Pakistan or I think Babar should open ‘’, he further added.

He further picks Muhammad Rizwan to promote up the order because he opens for Pakistan in T20I cricket but currently bats at the #4 spot in the ODI team of Pakistan.

‘’ I will go with Rizwan because he opens in T20 cricket. Even though both are settled on their numbers, I feel they have to do something different for the team ‘’, Kamran Akmal concluded.

The right-handed batsman, Abdullah Shafique is with the team as the backup opener but Kamran Akmal believes that Babar or Rizwan should promote themselves as opener for the benefit of the Pakistan team.
