The captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam has once again left India’s former captain behind in the ODI format.
Babar Azam has surpassed Virat Kohli and has created another record in ODI cricket in his match against India at the 2023 Asia Cup.
The captain of the Pakistan team is now the fastest ever to score 2,000 runs as a captain in ODI cricket. He has surpassed Virat Kohli who previously held this record.
India’s former skipper, Virat Kohli completed 2,000 runs in ODI cricket as captain in 36 innings whereas Babar Azam has now bettered that record by scoring 2,000 ODI runs as captain in just 31 innings.
The Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam has recently scored his 19th ODI century and became the fastest ever in ODI history to score 19 ODI centuries.
He broke Virat Kohli’s record as he scored 19 ODI centuries in just 102 ODI innings, in comparison to Virat Kohli who took 124 innings to score his 19th ODI century.
FASTEST TO 2000 ODI RUNS AS CAPTAIN:
Babar Azam now has this record under his belt for scoring the fastest 2000 ODI runs as captain. He has left behind Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who completed this feat in 36 and 41 innings respectively.
