Malan Scores Century As England Completes Victory Against Bangladesh In World Cup 2023:

England’s previous loss against New Zealand must have hurt them mentally and this win vs Bangladesh was needed badly to get going into the World Cup 2023.

A brilliant century from David Malan against Bangladesh helped England to post a huge target of 365 runs and defeated Bangladesh comfortably by 137 runs.

The captain of Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and opted to bowl first against England in World Cup 2023.

FIRST INNINGS:

All three top-order batters of England including Bairstow, Malan, and Root scored 50+ in the first innings against Bangladesh.

David Malan went on to score a century as he scored a magnificent 140 runs off just 107 deliveries, smashing sixteen fours and five sixes in his brilliant World Cup century.

Jonny Bairstow scored 52 on 59 deliveries and Joe Root scored 82 on just 68 deliveries and some runs in bits and pieces from the English middle-order helped them to reach a huge total of 364 runs.

Mahedi Hassan picked up four wickets and gave away 71 runs in his 8 overs and Shoriful Islam also picked up three wickets while giving away 75 runs in his 10 overs.

SECOND INNINGS:

In the run chase, Reece Topley and Chris Woakes dismissed the top three batters of the Bangladesh line-up as Bangladesh was in huge trouble as they were four down in the powerplay.

No other batters supported him but Liton Das continued his brilliant form as he scored fighting 76 runs in 66 deliveries with seven fours and two sixes.

Nothing worked well for Bangladesh but some praise for Mushfiqur Rahim who scored 51 runs at a very crucial moment and Towhid Hridoy for his 39 runs but eventually Bangladesh lost the match by a huge margin of 137 runs.

A collective bowling effort from English bowlers helped them bowl out Bangladesh for just 227 runs in the World Cup 2023 while chasing a huge total of 365 runs.

Reece Topley was the pick of the bowlers who claimed four crucial wickets while giving away just 43 runs in his 10 overs. Two wickets were picked by Woakes and one each for Rashid, Curran and Livingstone.
