USAMA MIR SHINES AGAINST SHAHEEN SHAH’S:
Pakistani players Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usama Mir were against each other in the clash last night, Usama Mir delivered a match-winning performance and helped his team win the match comprehensively.
Usama Mir’s dream year continues as he is playing Vitality Blast 2023 season for the first time with Worcestershire Team, he was signed as a partial replacement but because of his brilliant performances, the team management signed him for the complete tournament, and is now featuring as a regular member of the side in this year’s Vitality Blast season.
The Pakistani leg-spinner has played 7 matches for his team in the tournament so far and has picked up 13 wickets in the tournament that too at an impressive average of 13.2, the main part here is the economy rate of Usama Mir so far in the tournament which is just around 6.1 and this is what makes him so special this season and he is not giving away any runs.
Last night in a clash between the Worcestershire team and the Nottinghamshire team, Usama Mir again impressed everyone with his brilliant bowling performance as he gave away just 19 runs in his quota of four overs, he was nearly impossible to hit by the opposition batters.
Usama Mir also picked up one wicket in the match last night, he dismissed his team-mate from the National team, Shaheen Shah Afridi and we all know the damage that Shaheen Shah can cause in the lower order as he has proved many times now that he is a handy batter as well as a world-class bowler. He came in the lower order and tried to take him on but failed as this was not his day maybe and eventually gave his wicket to Usama Mir in this process.

In the end, Usama Mir completed his quota of four overs in the match and ended up with match figures of 1/19, these are just exceptional bowling figures as he gave away runs at an economy rate of less than 5 which speaks of his talent, his bowling performance helped his team to restrict the Nottinghamshire team to a low total of 139/8 and at the end that was easily chased by the Worcestershire batters.
On the other hand, Shaheen Shah Afridi again showed his top-quality skills with the new ball but couldn’t get a wicket in the power-play, he gave away just 9 runs in his two overs that he bowled in the powerplay against the Gloucestershire team.
The Pakistani pacer returned in the death and bowled another 1.3 overs but failed to get any wickets in the match, he conceded two boundaries in the 17TH over of the match and gave 16 runs in his death overs.

In the end, Shaheen Shah Afridi failed to pick up any wickets but still, his economy rate was good enough. He ended up with bowling figures of 0/25 in the 3.3 overs he bowled in the match as he couldn’t complete his four overs because the Worcestershire team won the match in the final over of Shaheen Shah Afridi in a low-scoring game.
The chase was led by Ed Pollock who played a very crucial knock at the end, he scored an unbeaten 38 runs in just 25 deliveries batting in the lower-order, smashed five fours and one six in his innings chase, and guided his team to another victory in the tournament. The Worcestershire team won the match in the final over and was a comfortable run-chase at the end.
